Hi! I'm new at genealogy and I'm having some trouble locating any information on the Tillie branch of our family.

My grandmother is Lillian Inez (Tillie) Morris, b. 1-11-1924. Her parents are Inez Bass (birthday unknown for her) and Dolophous Otto Tillie, b. 12-15-1899 in Thomas, Georgia. The only information I have been able to locate is the names of Otto's parents, Jerry Tillie and Lola Harris. Dates, places, etc seem to be hiding from me.

If anyone has any info on this branch of my family, could you pass it along? :) TIA! I appreciate it. Feel free to email me.

Marti

Hello,

I typed ARENSHORST into the genealogy message board and got 5 hits.
Yours included both Arenshorst and Bohmte, so I’m replying to your post
in hope that we have a connection.

When I type Arenshorst into mapquest.com I get a star just east of Osnabruck. Close to that is a locality named Bohmterheide. Perhaps this is the Bohmte mentioned in an 1822 baptismal record from St. Marien, Lutheran church in Osnabruck. All these localities mentioned are West of Hannover.

I have an extract from a Lutheran church in Arenshorst for a 1798 baptism
Names include – Buhning / Buning, Heuers, Sander and Brinkmanns.

I have 5 extracts from two different Lutheran churches in Osnabruck, from 1802 to 1841. Names include – Silschot, Ellermann, Ohnesorgen, Leden,
Roseler / Roesler and Muller.

The Roselers' came to America about 1841 - 1842 and settled in Buffalo, NY

If anything sounds familiar to anything you’ve come across I’d appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks, Martin
Hello David Smith,

The Tille family came from a town in northwest Germany called Bohmte, the area in which over half of my ancestors originated.
I am trying to locate all the folks who came from the St. Johannis Lutheran Church on the Arenshorst Estate which is where the earlier Tilles were baptized, confirmed, and married.

Carrie had 8 siblings, the youngest of whom was Sophia, baptized as Lydia Martha Sophia and born 15 May 1900. Carrie was baptized Anna Maria Caroline by the pastor of Solomon Lutheran in Woodville, Ohio. Her baptismal sponsors were Anna Helm and Marie Tille. Carrie was born 4 January 1892

Carrie and Arthur had nine children, but I don't know which daughter was your mother. Can you help me complete this branch of the Tille family? I began this German research eleven years ago and have been working on it continually since that time.

Lila Palmiter
Toledo, OH
DickLila@aol.com
David,,,,,,,thx for your reply..........Yes, Lydia Tille was the sister of my grandfather, Ludwig (Lewis) Tille............Carrie........Is that Carol?,,,,,,,,can you give me some info on her?............I have the Tille lineage back to 1750 in Germany if you are interested and want to xchange info would be gr8,,,,,,,,I'll need to get my Tille book out. The spelling of the name "Tille" never changed, it was also spelled that way in Germany. Someone picked up a diff. spelling somewhere along the line. Wilhelm's heastone reads "TILLE" in Woodville.............I have many cemetery photos of all of them if interested............Please e-mail me privately to echange info..........Thx so much

Judy Tille-Kanary
Walbridge, Wood Co., Ohio
WCOGS #1277

Hi Judy

I'm in Amherst,Ohio. My Grandmother is Carrie Tillie, She married Arthur Paul and they lived in the Woodville/Gibsonburg area all their lives. After she died, she wanted all the grandchildren to have something to remember them by. I choose this Bible. The handwritten entries are in old German and faded. Another name in the Bible is Lydia Tillie. From some of the notes written in the back she may have used it in a Lutheran Catechism around 1905. Do these names fit?
I'm

David.........glad to read your post........are you in the area?. I live in Walbridge, abt. 8 miles from Woodville. Wilhelm Tille is the original "Tille" immigrant from Germany. Maybe the bible belonged to him?. How did you come to have it? Thru family?
I would be very interested in seeing some of the pages. Do you have a scanner that you could scan pages to me? If you are ever interested in selling the bible please contact me.......Would be very gr8ful if you would share some of the information with me tho.

If you are in the Tille lineage I would be happy to share my pedigrees with you.

Please respond,
Judy Tille-Kanary
WCOGS #1277
