Seeking All Tillinghasts and their descendants

I have a database of about 20,000 descendants of Pardon Tillinghast. I offer free help with your Tillinghast lineage, in exchange for contributing what you have on your Tillinghast line.

Could be related!!!

Dear Todd,
My father's grandfather was Joseph Tillinghast and he shorted it to Tilling. I don't know too much about his side of the family as he was the black sheep and they abandoned him when he was very young. He spent time in St. Mary's School for wayward boys but broke out of the place with the help of Babe Ruth, when he was 14yrs. old. He tried to go back home to his family but they apparently turned him away so he took off to Culpepper, Virginia and lived there for a while and married my great grandmother Lula Walker and moved back to Maryland. I think his family moved to Pa. Don't know if this info is of any help, but if you think we are related, I would love to hear from you. Out of his marriage came Edward, Joseph, William, Arthur, Rose, Anne, Thelma, and Harriet Tilling. Arthur was my granddad. Caryl Tilling

Tillinghast - Tilling

Hi Caryl:

I am sure we are related. All Tillinghasts in America trace back to Pardon Tillinghast who founded the family in America about 1643. I have yet to find any other Tillinghast who came over from England other than Pardon. I have never heard of a Tillinghast changing his name to Tilling. I need to find out some more information on your Joseph Tillinghast. Do you have an approximate date of birth and where he was from? Any info. on his parents, siblings? I have a database with 19,000 descendants of the first Pardon Tillinghast - I'll look for him and hopefully we can find him.

Todd

Hi Bruce:

He's a cousin - as are all the Tillinghasts. :) Do you have a date of birth for him? I have about 150 James Tillinghasts in my database and it makes it easier to zero in on the right one. I have a lot of info on the Tillinghast family - do you want to swap info.?

Hi Bruce:

I checked out the site and the letter is by James B. Tillinghast. I just sent an e-mail to his great great granddaughter to let her know about the letter. Thanks.

If she wants it she can have it for postage.
Heck she can have it for free-it is signed by him, and written in his own hand on his company letterhead. She can contact me through the site. I will post a graphic of the letter tonight. Bruce.

I think we spoke quite some time ago when I
was just starting to research. Didn't I fill
out a form for you? I would like to know if
you could help me with my search. My grand-
father was Louis C. Tillinghast. He died in
Center Ossipee, NH in the early 1970s. I
believe he was born in Ma. in the early 1900s.
You can email me at the above address, or at
cntrylawyr@aol.com. Look forward to hearing
from you.
