Hi, my husbands line is through a Phebe Tillinghast,b.1798,d.1872, daughter of Pardon Tillinghast,b.1753,d.1835 and Amy Colt. They were married in 1789 and were from Conn. Phebe married Ozias Dix. Their son Pardon Tillinghst was my husbands gg-grandfather. Do you have any info on this line? They moved to western NY. Thanks. I'm new to genealogy so this is great fun!

Pardon Tillinghast

Hello, I have a GGGGGGGGG Grandfather by the
name of Pardon. He was born near Beachey Head,
Sussex, England. In 1622 he came to Providence,
R.I. He was part of the Roger Williams Baptist
Colony. His son is also Pardon Tillinghast and
Younger Pardon's son is Phillip Tillinghast.
I don't have any dates for the younger Pardon
or for Phillip. It looks like this line did
not go to N.Y. until some time during the
1800s.
If you know dates or think
this might be the same person you are
speaking of, let me know!

Thank you for your responce.Don't know too much about ole Pardon.Family lore is he was married to Amy Colt. Both from Conn. Their daughter Phebe Tillinghast was born 4 May 1798,d.18 June 1872. She married Ozias Dix and lived in western New York. That's about it.Any thing you can add is apreciated. I have a photo of Phebe and Ozias' son Pardon Tillinghast Dix .He was a handsome man; strong jaw, blue eyes and probably curly sandy blond hair.

I have a Pardon Tillinghast Taber in my database who married an Amy Colt. The dates would be about right wih the ons that you have. He is the son of Pardon Taber and Elizabeth Harris. Pardon Taber is the son of Philip Taber and Elizabeth Tillinghast. Elizabeth is the daughter of Pardon Tillinghast and Lydia Masters Taber

Hi! I saw your question to D. Richardson. I am also new to genealogy, and am looking for the lineage for my great great grandfather - Pardon Tillinghast Perkins. I think maybe his mother was a daughter of a Pardon Tillinghast. My gg-grandfather Pardon was possibly born in Rhode Island and in June1833 then moved to New York (or was born in NY) (settled in Worth township Jefferson County.) Do you have any records on your Pardon Tillinghast as to who his children were, and did any of them marry a "Perkins"? If we have a match I'd love to give you all the info I have... Thanks! Kammie
