Help, please. I have hit a brick wall trying to find the true Emily Tillis (my gg-gm) who married JH Roberts sometime around 1884. Emily was born in 1865, supposedly in Texas but her folks (names??) were from Mississippi. Her full maiden name was Emily Melvine Tillis. She could not read or write, so she may have given wrong info to the census-taker. She and her newborn son Richard Roberts died after giving birth in Mar 1904 (in Okla). Nine children survived: Henry (my g-gf), Julie, John, Ida, Mandy, Elias, Cash Lee, Odi or OD, and William Agustus Roberts. Mandy and Odi moved to California as adults, and are buried out here.
