John, Columbus and Mattie are my great grandparents and are buried here in Cheraw. Please be in touch. My grandfather's sister Elizabeth's middle name was Greene. We have the Tillman family tree books and I need to put this all together. My wife and I named our oldest son Blake after Mattie's family name. We have the original plat and deed of the Tillman farm when 2371/2 acres were conveyed from Issac to Columbus. this was a portion of the original Tillman farm. The plat shows an adjoining Blake family farm. We also have photographs of the Blake home and I have an original watercolor made from one of these. We to have an old photogragh with individuals yet to be identified. Please be in touch.-Bill Tillman

Hello John and Bill,
My Perry family lived along the Catawba and Wateree R on both sides of the Lancaster Kershaw Co line from 1774. My 3gr-gmother Rebecca Perry md Isaac Tillman as her second husband. They lived near the mouth of Singleton's Creek in Kershaw. The place is marked on the Mills 1820 map as Mrs Tillman's (she being widowed again by then). She is by tradition a McDonald of the Daniel McDonald and Rebecca Middleton line. Another Perry sev-grts-grandmother(Mary Starke Perry wife of Benjamin Perry, Jr d. 1813) md William Dixon as her seoond husband. They had one daughter Araminta Dixon. Her 1/2 brother John Starke Perry was appt her guardian in the 1830s after William and Mary's deaths. I have always wondered what happened to Aramintha. Maybe you have something in your records. Anyway, would love to exchange info and photos. Many of my Perrys are buried in Camp Creek Methodist Cem. Others are in Liberty Hill Pres Church Cem. Earliest were in family cems, but probably underwater now, since the dam built at Camden in 1910s or 1920s raised the water level. Please contact me on rbccstrr@aol.com.

Hi,
I am having trouble finding the parents for Elijah Tillman. He was born in Thomas, Georga and died in Colquitt, Georgia. They had 7 children: Mary, Sara, John, James, Phoebe, Elijah W. and Jerimiah. I have a family bible that states Elijah's father is John Tillman b. 1812 and his grandfather is James Tilgham b. 1776. I cannot find any records to confirm this.

Thank you,
Laura

My family may be related - we have a Tillman Brady Dixon who was born about 1855 somewhere in Ga - place unknown. Mother was Sarah Dixon and listed in 1870 census in Randolph County, Alabama with no husband (possible killed in Civil War - a John R Dixon). Tillman Dixon migrated to Texas in the 1880-90's and died there in the late 1890's of unknown causes. Any additional info on this is welcome.
I can be reached at boyerlib@aol.com

I have only just seen your reply to my 2001 posting*. We have quite a few family lines in common: Tillman, McDonald, and by marriage Dixon, Blake, probably others. If you will send an email address to me at rbccstrr@aol.com, I will write or we can talk by phone. I will also answer your posting today on Tillman family, in case you do not get a notice that this reply has been posted.
Rebecca
I was helping a cousin research her Blake family at the time, Hallie Blake Croft. She has since gone to her reward, but I did find the information she sought. I have a copy of a photo of Tillman Blake.

John, Columbus Tillman and Mattie Blake Tillman are my great grandparents from the Great Falls Catawba River farms of the Issac Tillman family and the Blake farm next door. Columbus and Mattie moved to Cheraw, S.C. with my grandfather and grandmother Daniel Lee and Lena Amos Tillman along with Daniel Lee's sister Elizabeth Tillman. They are all buried in our family plot in Cheraw at Old St. David's cemetery. My father was Daniel Lee Tillman Jr. who died March 20th 2006 at 4:55 PM. My aunt Virginia Tillman Watts is the only surviving child of Daniel Lee and Lena Tillman. She lives in Goldsboro, N.C.

We have in our possession here in our office the original plat and deed conveying 237.5 acres of the original Tillman farm on the Catawba river from "Isaaic' William Tillman to Columbus Tillman dated Sept. 15th 1880. Please be in touch with me. There is much more to share and I would like a copy of the pictures to see if they match any I may have of our family. We are the Tillmans of Great Falls/Catawba River Tillman farm and want to know others from that soil! My phone number is 843-921-7014 and I would welcome the chance to talk and know anyone descended from there. Our family was raised in the Camp Creek church after having given the land for the church. Actually from McDonald land who married Isaaic or Issac.
