Looking for Captain John Timberlake, Maine
Hi,
I'm looking for a Captain John Timberlake, probably born in the 1750's. He had a son James Timberlake (1777-1856) who married Judith Crane (1779-1864) and lived in the area of Turner, Maine. They had 11 children (James, Enos, James G., Lydia, Sarah, Henry, John, Louis, Silas Roland, Nathan, and Almira). I have a very detailed genealogy of James Timberlake's descendants through 1973, but nothing on his ancestors, other than his father's name.
I'm assuming they called him Captain because of his rank in the Revolutionary War, but I don't know if he was originally from Maine, who he married, or if he had other children. If you have any clues that could help point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!
Thank you,
Cynthia
