Timko Adoption Update

My mom finally found out more information on her birth mother. Her name was Marianne Timko and she was 22y/o in 1959. She lived in Ohio and was on her way to California to see her brother when she stopped in Oklahoma City to have her child. She struggled with the decision to give my mom up according to the file. If anyone any further information about a woman fitting this description please let me know. I would love to find out if my mom has half siblings out there somewhere!

I posted this a few monts ago, but thought I'd repost just in case I can get anymore hits on it:

My mother was adopted right after her birth in 1959 and just recently found out that her birth name was Elizabeth Timko and we think we've found that her mother's name was Mary Ann Timko. My mother was adopted through the Catholic Church and was born at St. Francis Hospital in Oklahoma City. I was curious if anyone knew anything about the Timko family in that area.
Perhaps we have a connection. I'm seeking info on Sarah Harris and Joseph Paskavan. I believe they married in Albia, Iowa where Sarah's family lived after emigrating from England in 1904. 1930 census gives Joe's birthplace as Austria, his emigration date of 1909, and names children Mary A, Anthony, and a third (daughter, name illegible). She had a brother who lived in Vermillion, IN, and 14 other siblings in Iowa and Illinois. The men were all miners. If you have even a hint about possible connections, I hope you will repond.

Mary-
My great-aunt, Sarah Harris, married Joseph Paskavan in Albia Iowa around 1912 (she was 16, he was 19). As of 1930, they had 3 children: Mary A, Anthony, and a daughter whose name I can't make out on the census (Margaret?). Sarah emigrated from England in 1904, he from Austria in 1909. I believe they both lived out their lives in Iowa, and have SSDI dates, but no other information. I've posted a family group record on the Iowa Genweb site under John Bennett Harrris, Sarah's father.

I think we might have a connection, and hope you'll contact me.

I know its been a while since you posted but I have just begun my search on the Timko family. I hope this gets to you!
I belong to the same Timko family. My grandmother was Anna Timko. Her parents were Michael Timko and Anna Pipa. The family did and some still do live in Barton, Ohio. I beleive your grandfather Joesph was a brother to my grandmother. I have some but not alot of info on the family - unfortunately I did not begin this search until many of the older family had passed away. I would love to share information with you and hope to hear from you soon!

I "think" the two were related, but haven't found the connection - yet.

My Timko families lived in Munhall - West Mifflin, PA.

Phyllis

Are you still out there? I hope you are doing well. We corresponded a few years ago about our common ancestor, Michael Timko Sr of McKeesport, PA.

I dropped off the trail for a while but have picked it up again because my brother has taken an interest. Let me know if you have discovered anything new or just email back to confirm you are there and I'll send you any updates we find.

By the way, in one of your emails you mentioned sending some photos. I never received any so if you have a chance to send them again I would appreciate it very much.

Warmest Regards,
Paul Timko
my grandfather: Michael Timko Jr (brother of Elizabeth Timko-Smith)
my great-grandfather: Michael Timko Sr
Phyllis, I am back on the trail searching for Timko and Pavlisin connections. Do you have any news since our last posts? I don't know if you are aware, but your Grandmother Elizabeth's obituary in the Mckeesport Daily News lists her parents as Michael and Anna Pomejba Pavlisin. The entire Timko family had their names changed legally in 1925 from Pavlisin to Timko. I find Elizabeth's birth date to be Jan 11 1905. Here is a quick recap.

Michael Timko Sr (Pavlisin) b. bet Jan 07 1871 and Mar 29 1871 d. Mar 29 1930
Anna or Annie Pomejba b. abt 1875 d. abt Jan 01 1915
Michael Jr b. Mar 06 1899 d. Jun 20 1979
Andrew b. Jan 03 1901 d. Jan 10 1984
Elizabeth b. Jan 11 1905 d. Mar 24 1987

Michael Timko Sr (Pavlisin)
Mary Gaspar (2nd wife)
Vera b. Apr 17 1910 d. Feb 04 1947

Thanks, Paul Timko
