Andrew Jackson TINKER b. abt 1833 lived in Coshocton and Putnam Counties, Ohio

Our ancestor, Andrew Jackson Tinker/Tanker was born about 1833. Different records list his place of birth as NY, NJ, & MD. He grew up in Coshocton and Putnam Counties in Ohio, with Doctor George Parke and wife, Maria. We don't know Maria's maiden name and aren't sure if she's Andrew's mother. After the Doctor's death in 1864, Maria married George Miller of Ottawa, OH. In 1865, Andrew married Elizabeth Wyant and went by the name Andrew Jackson Parks. Does anyone have an Andrew Jackson Tinker in their family tree? My husband took a DNA test, and did not match the Parke/Parks family line, but he did match a Tinker! We'd love to know where we fit in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need an appropiately sourced list of the children of Silas and Lois (Wade) Tinker, who came to Ashtabula County, Ohio about 1806. An 1889 booklet, The Ancestry of Silas Tinker does not list children. The 1966 Ancestors and Descendants of Kenneth J. Tinker lists 11 children without dates or sources. The 1985 Ashtabula County History has another list with very few duplications and of course no sources. No probate record has been found that might list children.

Thank you for responding to my query. Please write me at RBensonFL@aol.com to let me know your email address so we can exchange information on Silas Tinker. I have names of several children, but have no sources that prove that I have the right list. There does not seem to be a probate record in Ashtabula County, Ohio. A family Bible record would be ideal. It is frustrating that the 1889 book, The Ancestry of Silas Tinker, does not list the children. This is needed for a 5-generation genealogy to be published, The Nicholas Wade Family. Silas married a Wade.

Sorry, I am new at this. This is all that I know: His name is Taylor Tinker. His first name may have been Benjamin and his middle name Taylor. He married a Melinda J Gifford who was born around 1860. Her parents were William Gifford (1807-1870) and Elizabeth Gifford (1827-1870). They lived in Dade County, Georgia near the Rising Fawn area. I found a sister of Melinda's grave (Parlee P Gifford) at Brown Gap Cemetary in Trenton, GA. I did not locate Melinda or Taylor Tinker.

Thanks for replying to this board which has been dormant for quite a while. I am definitely interested in the book too. John Tinker, the Rev. War soldier from Cortland County, NY, is my ancestor through his daughter, Rosanna. Rosanna married Isaac Holley. Isaac's father, Joseph, was also an early settler of Cortland County. John Tinker and Joseph Holley both served for Connecticut in the Revolution.

William W.TINKER, born February 1855, AL

I am doing research for a family friend for her parents Christmas gift. I have run into a brick wall as to who William's parents were. I know the following from censuses and family lore:
William W. Tinker, born February 1855, AL. Died sometime after 1920 Census.
Married 1) Nancy Jane Johnson, b. 1853 in AL. They were married on 5 January 1879, Jackson County, AL. They had:
1. George H. Tinker, born February 1880 and died 16 May 1956 in Etowah, AL. He married Francis L. ?. They had Lucy b. 1903, Henderson b 1906, Minnie, b. 1907 and Vira b. 1907.
2. Nellie M., born 1884 or 1886, in AL. She married William L. Martin, b. 1881 in Georgia. They had Zuma, Seattle, William J., Dell Lee and Frank Jack.
3. William J. Tinker, b. November 1887, AL.
4. Minnie Lee Tinker, b 23 March 1888. She married Walter F. Lanthripp. She died 3 September 1928 in Alabama City, Etowah, AL.

William W. Tinker married 2nd. Jenarie E. Saratt, Jackson County, AL in 1895.

NOTE: This means that Nancy Jane Johnson Tinker died sometime after 1888 and before 1895.

He is listed in the 1880 Census, Jackson County, AL; 1900 Alabama City, Etowah, AL; 1910, Alabama Ward 3, Etowah, AL, and 1920 Stafford, Cherokee, AL.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for his parent's & grandparent's names & birth/death dates/places. I am hoping to trace back as far as possible.

Currently I am trying to prove the theory that John Tinker (ca. 1800KY) is the uncle of Jackson (ca. 1820IN) and Harrison (ca. 1823IN).
I am also trying to prove that Jackson & Harrison are brothers.

John Tinker marries 1828 in Washington Co., MO.
He moves to Crawford Co., MO
He later (ca. 1856) has a son he names Harrison.

Harrison (ca. 1823IN) marries in Crawford Co., MO.
He eventually has a son (1851) that he names Andrew Jackson.

So...I think John names a son after his nephew and Harrison his nephew names a son after his own brother.
Any help proving this theory appreciated.

Is this the Thomas Richardson that married Kate Griffith?
Buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, Dent Co., MO.

If this is the right family then I have info that his mother, Emily (Tinker) Richardson is buried on the Martin Farm on Current River above Twin Springs in Shannon Co., MO. The farm once belonged to William Richardson but he lost it and Mr. Martin bought it.

Later William & Emily's grandson Sam Richardson would marry the granddaughter of Mr. Martin.

William Richardson is suppose to be buried somewhere in Arkansas.

This might help. I've recently thought that Jackson & Harrison might be brothers.

There is a John Tinker born ca. 1800 KY who moves to Washington Co., MO in time to marry 1828.
He moves to Crawford Co., MO shortly thereafter.
He has a son by the name of Harrison (born ca. 1856).

I've always believed that this John Tinker was the uncle of my Harrison Tinker (born ca. 1823 IN).
Several researchers get the two Harrisons mixed up.
My Harrison has a son Andrew Jackson Tinker 1851, Crawford Co., MO.

Your Jackson Tinker is born ca. 1818-1820 IN. (per census).

I just really believe due to the time, place and common names that the relationship is that John (1800) is the uncle of both Harrison (1823) & Jackson (1820) and that they in turn are brothers.

I am trying to prove this now.
