Tinney relatives. Children were:

Clois was my dad but died when I was two. Never
knew any of my uncle's except Clayton which I
met once or twice. All were born in Altus,
Oklahoma.

Hi. My friend is a grand nephew of Osie Ola Tinney. That would make him your 2nd cousin, I think. Osie's father was William Tinney (1845 - 1916) and his mother was Martha Jane Mashburn (1849-1930).

I have been looking for a link to my Tinney line from NY. I find them in Queensbury. There is a father and sons in the 1820 census. Lyman and Benjamin are two names that show up most often.
Asa Tinney comes from Conn. There are wills with his name linked to a Benjamin Tinney. Any help would be appreciated. Lu

Hi Kay, just got your post. Didn't I email you with details of the Tinney book I published last year? It has the info you gave me and much more. For some reason I thought you ordered one. Sorry but my mind is on other things these days.
Yes, John Isaac Tinney & Elizabeth Davis is Wiley Clark Tinney's parents. He also had a twin sister named Lucinda. There are 2 older sisters but I don't know who they are.
Again I want to thank you for your contribution to the book. It has been a good source for researchers. However, nothing is perfect but it does give a good deal of info for anyone researching the SC Tinney's.

I found the following information in a "Vital Records of Conway, Massachusetts to the year 1850." It mistyped Tinney with Ginney but gave some births of children. All of the following are Tinney's (i.e., it is Alverson Hinds Tinney, etc.) I was looking for information on that Alverson Hinds Tinney's grandpa who was Alverson Hinds, and instead came across this. Riley (Royal) Tinney is also my GGG Grandfather. I suppose you've seen his listing in the 1850 US Census. At that time he only had "Luke" listed as a son. Living next door to his father-in-law. I am trying to find out more information about my great great grandmother and her family. My 2greats grandmother, Emma Tinney was born 1868-1870 (conflicting census information). She married Jason Phoenix and they had 8 children, one of whom was my great grandmother, Bertha Bell Phoenix (Smith). Emma and Jason lived in the Schenectady NY area from at least the 1900’s and on. If anyone has any information they are willing to share that would be great! I also do have more information on their children if anyone is interested. Thanks so much!

Hello. I am researching James Tinney as well. I have seen that he was also married/lived with Rebecca Ellen Long before he was with Rachel. Rebecca had three children by him, and a son by a previous marriage changed his name to Tinney. I have no idea why, but he did. Can anyone help me with putting proof to James being with Rebecca? Feel free to visit my tree. It is a work in progress, but I have put alot of records there for the Tinney's.

Hello everyone, I hope that someone may be able to assist me. I have a Jennie Minerva Tinney b 1869 in my tree that married my GGGrandfather Clinton D Pulver b 1858. They were married in Clyde, New York, Mar 5, 1885. I have not been able to confirm this info nor find out about Jennie's family. She had two children Alfred and Edna.

Has anyone seen any infomation about her?

Lloyd Tinney and Samantha Tinney are my grandparents. My father is Eugene Tinney. He is the only child still living from the marriage. And is now 80 years old and lives in Ohio. All his siblings have passed on.

I have a John Isaac Tinney in my line, he had a son Isaac, but I don't know if he would fit in your Isaac Tinney. John Isaac was born about 1795 in South Carolina. He was married 4 times (no May though). His son Isaac was born in about 1828 in Georgia (probably Meriweather county). His Mother was Rebecca Susannah Davis. My ancestor from this John Isaac and Elizabeth Davis (wife#2) was Wiley Clark Tinney (1842-1911).
Contact Tammy Tinney Caine at SwanLake8@aol.com. She has lots of info and has written a book on the Tinneys. Maybe she can give you some hints or ideas on your line.

I am looking for information on my Grandmother Roxie Ann Tinney (12 Jan., 1888 (Arkansas) -20 March, 1978 (Texas). She married Alfred Morgan in 1903 in Oklahoma. Her Father was Wiley Clark Tinney (1842-1911) and Lucy Tubbs Ayers (abt 1868-1888/9)). I cannot find her (Roxie) anywhere prior to 1910 census. She was in Grayson county, Texas in 1896 during the tornado in Sherman. She lived with different families until her marriage. Has anyone got any information or ideas??

MY Wiley Clark had a twin sister?? Well, I'll be!!
In 1850 Merriweather county, Ga. There is listed a John and Sussan Ann Tinney listed and children Lucinda and Wiley as 8, is that where you got the twin idea? There were four other siblings also.

In my husband's family is the Tinney line. William Ambrose Tinney,was born abt 1810, we think in MO, and died bef 1845, at Lone Grove, TX. He married Margaret McCoy, 39 Oct 1828, St Charles, MO. She was the daughter of Daniel McCoy and Rachel Zumwalt. Margaret was born 1815, St Charles, MO and died 02 March 1875,Gonzales,TX.William Ambrose Tinney and Margaret Tinney were the parents of John Lewis Tinney, born in MO, Giffin, born in Mo 1833, Austin, born in TX, 1837, and Jacob, born in TX 1840. Our line goes through John Lewis Tinney and Martha Ann Trainer.

I'm wondering if W A would be William Ambrose Tinney (b. abt 1802). Family lore is that he was born in Alabama. He married Margaret McCoy in St. Charles Missouri. He moved with the Trainer family to Caldwell County Texas. He had 4 sons John Lewis (b. 1830 in Blanco TX), Griffin (b.1834), Addison B. "Austin" (b. 1837) and Jacob "Jake" (b. 1841).

And just as speculation, W A's wife Margaret remarried after his death to Alexander Morris (b. 5 aug 1824 in Bridesburg, Philadelphia, PA) (this info according to rootsweb worldconnect). So maybe Morris and your Moores are the same. Alexander and Margaret had 3 children.

We're related. My gg-grandmother was Margaret Marr (Tinney) Mayrhofen. She was the daughter of John Lewis Tinney and Martha Ann Trainer.

His professional career was spent in the NYS Comptroller's office. He retired in 1995 after 30 years of service. He married Virginia Norman and together they raised five children in their home in West Berne, N.Y. Bob and Ginny shared a love of antiques and collectibles, running several stores of their own as well as participating in many flea markets and shows together. Bob's special area of interest were coins, stamps and old silver. At the time of his death he was working on a book about U.S. Revenue Stamps. Bob is survived by his wife, Ginny; and their five children, Billy of Calif., Robert of Albany, N.Y., Mark and wife Dorota of Kettering, England, Mike of Orlando, Fla. and Donna Lendrum and husband Ron of Middleburgh, N.Y.; grandchildren, Heidi Kruse, Heather Lendrum, and Eva Tinney; twin sister, Betty Fallon and husband Ken of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Tinney Jr. The family plans on a private service. Donations may be made in Bob's name to The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler County, 3500 Wood Brier Tr., Port Orange, FL 32129, who provided strength and support to Bob and his family during his final illness.

My grandmother was Nellie Leah Tinney she married James Rapp And had 6 kids I think she past away last year she was 98. I am trying to locate any family members because I know nothing about my fathers side of the fanily my dad is soon to be 75 this dec. my g-ma and G-pa lived in Widen West Virginia for years then moved to Lodi Ohio we didnt get to see them much growing up and after my g-pa past in 1972 g-ma was no longer able to live alone so my dad moved her to Strange Creek West Virginia and took care of her until she pasted on my dad seems to recall Native American being in his blood like and I"m tryig to figure it all out. can you help me I"m like on a wild goose chase with no goose to follow?
