I do not know what happened to this child. Just that he lived for at least a month. Anyone have any suggestions or knowledge of them?

James & Elizabeth's sons were Summerfield (1832-1897) & Fenton. Summerfield was my 3rd GGrandfather. His son, Chaucey was my Ggrandmother Legg's father. She was born in Perry County, Ohio, in 1882.

My gggrandfather was Robert Tippett of Panola Texas. He was the son of James Tippett and Catherine Ramsey. He was born in Tennessee in 1812. I dont know where James was born. Robert was married first to Mary Yelvington, a widow. When she died, he married my gggrandmother, Nancy Soape. They were in Texas in 1836 and Robert was at the battle of San Jacinto in the war for Texas Independence. I know nothing beyond James, but I dont think they came from Ohio. However I could be wrong. This research is confusing sometimes.

Frank Tippets?

Looking for information about Frank Tippets, who lived in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1965. He is the grandson of Bertha Schladoer Brown, who died in Santa Clara County, California that year. I suspect he was named for his grandfather, Frank Brown, who died in Yolo County, California in 1944. Frank Tippets may have had at least five children: his grandmother's obituary lists five great-grandchildren as survivors, in addition to Frank.

Any information/leads would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Russell was the brother of a friend of my grandmother from Houston,Texas at the time. Her name was Bertha Rasberry Matthews. Her brother changed his name from Rasberry to Russell. I don't know if he did it before the birth or after. I do not know the adopted mothers name. Bertha had a son named Leon and one went by AJ.Donna Kayes biological father was married later to my mothers former Aunt. Their last name was Parker. My grandmother was a Tippett who had been married to a Wood and may have used that name on the legal papers.

I am searching for information on my Tippett family. William Robert was married to Emma Louise Strickland and they had a daughter Willie May or Mae who died of diptheria in 1915 at abt a yr old. They had another daughter Marguerite Lucille and a son named Robert Lee. W.R.Tippett
had a sister named Mary who had a daughter named Allice Lee Grosjean who went on to marry a Tharpe. There were more children I believe James & Andrew and one had been married to a woman named Janice (Janeese). There were more I believe. The father was Andrew I think and the mother was Lia. I don't know if the spelling is correct but it was in a bible my greatgrandmother had. Any help would be great.

Thomas C. Tippett/Nancy Abernathy

Thomas C. Tippett married Nancy Abernathy abt. 1885 in N.C., probably Macon County. They had several children. I am seeking any and all information anyone may have re: Nancy, especially her parents, birthdate & place, and date of death. Data about siblings would also be very helpful. If you have anything re: this, please post it. Thanks,

Bruce

As a follow-up, I have not seen anything to date in my records re: your family. I did look in the census reports for 1920 and again for 1930 re: James & Martha. The 1920 report lists them as James W. and Esther Tippet with five kids, but no Ms. Abernathy. The 1930 report has them as Will J. and Martha E. Tipett (only 1 letter P), and three kids, plus an S.W. Abernathy, identified as male, age 60 with an occupation of preacher. Ancestry.com picked this up as Teacher, but the actual report says preacher of the gospel. This person could be a female and misidentified by the census taker. I checked prior reports but have not found anything re: this S.W. Abernathy.

Hope this helps; if you would like any details from these reports, let me know.

Bruce

Thanks for your reply. I learned just recently that the Nancy Abernathy described in my post is not the one I had been searching for. However, I did assemble some data re: the Tippetts while doing my search. I will review this and see if I have anything that might connect to your family. If so, I will pass it on. I hope your search is successful.

Bruce

I am decended from the Tippitt family. My Great Grandparents were James Wm. Tippitt and Martha Esther Hollowell. My aunt lived in their home in Arkansas, she is 85 yrs old now and tells about 'Miss Abernathy' that lived with them also. We know she was elderly, my Aunt remembers her to be about 90ish in the early 1930's. However, she doesnt remember what her connection was. We are starting to piece together our family history and I am traveling to Arkansas this week to search records. Feel free to contact me! tinsies@yahoo.com

Re: Dennis Tippett

I have some information on Dennis Tippett.

He was born about 1690 in St Mary's Co. (SMC), MD, and died about 1773 in SMC. He married Elizabeth Maddox about 1715.

Their children were (as far as I can tell):

Butler Tippet
Dennis Jr
Elizabeth (married a Taylor)
Sarah (married a Cartwright)
John Tippet, b abt 1720, died abt 1790.
John's children were:
Elizabeth
Zachariah
Lucretia
Nelson (d abt 1826) - had children
John (d abt 1823)
Rebecca (b abt 1753, d abt 1823). Rebecca marr.
Jonathan Hayden (my Hayden ancestor)
James Tippett (b abt 1729)
Joseph Tippett (b abt 1740, d 1786, SMC). He
marr. Eleanor abt 1777; they had children
Notley Tippett (b 1743, d 1794). He married Sarah
and had children

The above is to the best of my knowledge.

I am descended from Dennis' brother, William (Sr)

I have most of Dennis' descendents in my database and will be happy to share further.

Let me know if you need further information.

Fran Davis

franniedavis@verizon.net
I posted a tree on Ancestry for the Tippett Family. Your Samuel E. Tippett is a member of my tree.

I can provide your access to the tree if you give me your email address.

I do know that Eliza Rebecca Caddington/Cadington is recorded as being the daughter of Sophia Emily Watson (Cadington-Taylor) Stamp. Sophia was my GGgrandmother. She was married three times.

In the 1860 census, Eliza is living with Sophia and her 2nd (?) husband John Taylor in Aquasco, and is recorded as "Rebecca" Taylor. In the 1870 census, still in Aquasco but is living with my GGgrandfather George Stamp and Sophia. She is recorded as Rebecca "Cavington".

The Watson Family as well as the Stamp Family can be found in Aquasco, PGC., Maryland in the 1850 and 1860 census. It appears the Stamp Family moved to Nottingham area of PGC sometime between 1870-1880 and the Watson Family never left the Aquasco area.

Please feel free to contact me directly at sstampanderson@aol.com

Hi!

To get a copy of the picture, just go to that long e-mail address that is on my original post. This will take you directly to the picture.

I happened to come across several of these photos, and just wanted to share them with anyone who would like a copy. Am so glad that you found it!!

I am pretty computer illiterate, but I think once you click on that address, you can just print out the picture. Now me--I would have to have my son help me to make sure the picture is cropped, etc. etc.

I would just try to print it out on regular paper. If that comes out good, then you can just substitute good photo paper, and have an actual photograph.

Good luck!! Let me know if it works OK for you.

Bye---Marian Warren

Hello Cuzz., Time is my enemy as far as genealogy is concerned. I'm working 10+/hrs M-F, most Saturdays and some Sundays. Also for a long time have been working on my house and will be moving in a month or so. After that I'd hope to have more time for it.

That said, Josias (or the various spellings of his name) is my ggggrandfather, Hezekiah being his son. I have quite a bit of info on Hezekiah and Robert and Samuel.

Hezekiah moved to St. Louis, Mo from SMC in May, 1831. He died in 1845 and I have his probate file. Hezekiah's son Stoddard's second wife was Rachel McMechen Wells. Rachel's grandmother was Rachel Rosanna Nivens McMechen. She was one heck of a lady for her time. I have a story about her that is pretty interesting. If I can find it, I'll send it to you if you want.

At some point I would like to be able to get back into genealogy, or have someone organize all the info.

Ray.
