Looking for the line of my great great grandmother Matilda Tippens b.abt.1824 in South Carolina-d.1860-1861 in Dallas County, Arkansas. She married Joseph Stevenson (b.1811 SC)in Georgia in late 1830's. They are listed with family in 1850 Census, Dekalb County, Georgia with misspelled name "Stinson". You have done yeoman work on the various spellings of surname, and the database table is outstanding. The closest I find there is 00069 but I do not belive that is her. Should you run across a closer "match" I would be most grateful to know.

I am certain there is a connection, but I don't recognize the cousin's you indicated. I maintain a database of my entire family with all its varying names, beginning with the original spelled "Typpynge." The address of the database is http://members.cox.net/wayne.tippin/ and you are welcome to view it at your convience. I imagine there is a suffix to indicate a USA address and I trust you know what the suffix would be, because I have no idea. I have other correspondents in England that are searching out our relations and I would very much like to email you directly to inquire further regarding your Tippin connection. You may contact me directly at wayne dot tippin @ cox dot net and of course there may (or may not) be a USA suffix to that address. I certainly hope I hear from you.

William Tippen b. 1799.

Eliza Goodhugh married John Murphy Jones 1870 in Woolwich, Kent and immediately immigrated to NY, USA...

Any relations?
Thanks.
Kristen Taylor Drake

I have just posted the January update to a worksheet I maintain on a server. In that form you will find data regarding Tipping, Tippins, Tippin, Tippens, Tippen, and several other variations. I encourage you to review the chart in hopes it will aid you in your research. You should know the chart is a very big file because there are well over a thousand of our ancestors in it already, and I've tracked many of the soldiers in both sides of the civil war! You will neet a high-speed line to download it unless you have a lot of time to wait. I think you'll be very pleased with the data you will see. The server's address is as follows: http://members.cox.net/wayne.tippin/ Good Luck.

Tippin Chart Updated

I just uploaded many changes to my Tippin worksheet. Have a look at http://members.cox.net/wayne.tippin.

The standard WORD commands work. For searching, hit CNTL-F and enter the name, place, date, or whatever you are looking for. Spelling is important - so if you don't find someone under Tippin, try Tippins, Tipping, Tippens, or any of the other variations. If you have corrections, please let me know. If you have additions, the family would all be grateful for your contribution. I hope the form is of some use to you.

Mary, I have several contacts in England that may be able to assist in your research. If you can provide more information on the people in whom you're interested, I will forward it on to my contacts in Olde Blighty. However, here are a cople of internet sites I maintain (why, I don't know) that may offer you some help. Look at http://tippin.dnsalias.com/ which is a database I maintain for the Typpynge family to use, or my WORKING FILE which is http://members.ox.net/wayne.tippin but you should remember on that site (the second one) I insert anything and everything I am sent and it is verified later. What you see there came from "someone" and THEY think its correct. Sometimes it is not. Anyway, have a look at those sites and contact me at wayne.tippin@cox.net if you want additional information. Wayne Tippin

Jayne, I can send you the entire history, if you want, but as you now know, its already on line at the Tippin Site. I can try to .zip it to you, but I think its too big. However, I can mail you a CD with it all, if you like. If that is your choice, then send your mailing address to me seperately. Don't put it on this board! You've already sent me one message at my Cox account, so you know the address. Let me know if you want the CD. Wayne.

TIPPIN website

Great! As soon as I finish this reply, I'm going there to have a look. I'm sure it will be a rewarding visit. I became amazed a while back that there are so many "cousins" researching the family. I kept getting questions, and asking questions of others, that I thought It would be a good idea if I set up a database where anyone and everyone could go to research and hopefully add data that would benefit the family as a whole. Its not fully operational yet - a visitor can search, but I'm having some difficulty with firewalls etc., to preclude people from inserting bad things, deleting stuff they don't like, or inflating things they do. I have the procedure resolved and am now in the process of writing the program for it. Hopefully it'll be done soon and the site will be fully operational and safe to accept input. Thanks for leading me to your site...
Wayne Tippin - Fort Walton Beach, Florida

I have created a TIPPIN website for anyone to research, draw data from, and very soon to add data to it !! You can find the site at: http://tippin.dnsalias.com/

Have a look and see what you think. The search engines are partcularly good - they will find ANYTHING you list such as a date, a name, or a period between dates. Whatever.

Look at it, and if you have info you want added to the database or see an error, send it to me at wayne.tippin@cox.net and I'll include it. The site accepts pictures too, so if you have gravestones, people, etc., send them along. Hope the site helps in your research....

Wayne Tippin

I am also connected to the Henry Tippin b. abt. 1725 from his son John. My line goes like this:
Henry Tippin b. abt. 1725
John Tippin b. 1752 in NC
John Tippen Jr. b. 1801 in SC
Dennis Tippen b. 1825 in SC
Matthew Robert Tippen b. 1858 in MO
George W. Tippen/Hefner b. 1890 in MO

I was just curious if Aaron Tippin was kin to my line of Tippins. You did a lot of work to answer my question. Thank You very much for taking the time to confirm my curiosities.
I'm wondering if you would be interested in sharing more info about your line of the family, since we seem to descend from John....son of Henry. I would be happy to share any of this info with you.
also....still wondering about Aaron......one day, maybe we can contact the man and learn one way or the other just how we're related...ha.
Thanks,
Penny

Do you know which of the Tippins(g) returned to England and left a William here m.Mary Ann Cordell 1793 st Pancras before disappearing again to 6yrs later retuning to have several children in shoreditch area?we have nose and mouth of aaron the singer and resemble very closely mark e. tippins lawyer of jacksonville?william and marys death registered under tipping in london and son william J. Tippins a pianomaker who had at least 15 children by a wife and a cordell cousin with the boy twins appearing every 2-3 generations in this line.A Henry Tippins is listed in an old London gentlemans magazineas a brandy trader in London in 1770s and my father Edward a twin spoke of an uncle who became Le roi (Leroy) Tippins of Indiana and knew Davy Crockett and also of many uncles in military musical corps. We here are a musical intelligent religious and politically active line of Tippins with a fairly outspoken personality tending towards extremes and whoever our american our they or their ancestors done something which caused a CMHT worker from the first area of England to be linked to the internet to fly to America to research us and come back and had several of us put under CMHTeam restraint and even "special branch" surveillance.I therefore would be grateful for urgent help in sorting out which of the Tippns in America we are directly related to.
