Lot Toles, Elizabeth Toles and David DeBra

I'm looking for information on Elizabeth Toles who married David DeBra in Miami Co., Ohio 13 June 1843. I belive she was the daughter of Lot Toles and Susana Furgeson (md 29 May 1823 same county). Susana passed away before 17 Oct 1829 when Lot married Elizabeth Inman. Lot and Elizabeth are shown in the 1830 Census with a girl between 5-10 living with them--I believe this was Elizabeth Toles.

David DeBra may be the son of Henry and Charity DeBra of Newton Township, Miami, Ohio.

Whether of not there is a blood relation between Elizabeth and Lot, there was some association. Lot and Elizabeth named their last son David Debra Toles (1855-1899).

Any information would be helpful.

Good day
Looking for Elijah Toles who fathered among others Francis J b 1796, David b 1803, Elijah Jr b 1806, Edmund b 1814. Wondering if there are records of these births. This Elijah was born late 1771 and died 3-31-1848 Salina, Onondaga co, Ny. He is buried in Liverpool Cemetery, there, next to son Edmund.
Seems the children might have been born Albany Co or Schenectady Co, Ny but can't find any records.
Finally, would like to know Elijah's parents.

Any info would be wonderful.

Hi mia, I believe you might want to check Walter and Mary
Toles of massilon. Mary had a twin sister named Matt that
lived in cleveland and a sister Meena Anderson, also in
massilon, and sister Edna also in cleveland.Edna also had
a son named Theodore born in 1912 and died either in the late forties or early fifities.

hi mia, try looking up the Andersons, Ray, Bute, and Gladys
their mothers name was Meena and her sister was Edna Toles.
I forgot what street they lived on in massilon.

My grandfather was Charles Franklin Toles, born in Peru, Indiana and died in Anderson, Indiana. I have a lot of information on him but do not know if any connection to anyone in Ohio at this time.

and died 21 April 1944 in Jackson, Franklin, Ohio. He was married twice according to 1910 census in Franklin county, Ohio. His second wife was Georgia Barnett born 15 April 1881 and died 21 April 1979 in Columbus, Ohio, they had 8

If William G. Toles was born in 1816 in KY, as stated on this board, he is not the brother of Lot Toles. Lot Toles was the son of Joseph Toles, who died in 1796 in Newberry, SC. Information about the disposition of his will and about his widow, Jemima Toles is in Newberry, SC will archive. Daniel Toles was living in Edgefield, SC and Jemima went there as a widow.

Are you referring to the John Toles who was taking public domain land on 24 Oct 1837 in Crawford, IL and again on 10 Jul 1844 in Crawford, IL? Other Toles left the Miami Co. area of Ohio to move to Crawford about the same time. Lot Toles, my ancestor who witnessed the Lucy Toles will, may well be her brother. He was b. 15 Oct 1790 in Newberry Co., SC, fitting Lucy's time & place line. I would like to learn more about Lucy and John Toles. They probably moved to Miami together because 1803 matches data I have.

The census has been removed, unfortunately. I am very interested in this generation of the Toles family. Daniel and William were in SC from 1800 on. William resided Edgefield, SC and Daniel, as you say, in Newberry. Joseph Toles was there too and enumerated in the first F. Cen. of 1790. Because of his descendants, more is known about him but I think William may have left about the time Joseph's son Lot did. I have the impression from the will and the census that Joseph's widow went to live w. Daniel. William may be the father of Wm. G. Toles born in Kentucky in 1816. I welcome opinions on this.

Elizabeth Inman Toles and Lot Toles did spend time in Crawford but also in adjoining Jasper County. Elizabeth did not die in Illinois but in Winfield, Cowley, Kansas. After Lot's death 31 Oct 1866, Elizabeth went to Wisconsin with some of her children. A married daughter (Heaton) was already there. Then on to Kansas.

I believe that you are right that we are related. I went through my tree again on this site and I have that my great grandfather(Clarence Toles) had two sons named Walter and Theodore(my grandfather). There may me more siblings but that is all I have right now. Theodore had a son named Theodore Douglas Toles(my father) whom everyone in Massillon refers to as "Doug". These are my gr gr gandparents too. Ellen was my great grandmother. Miram was actually a Toles: Sara S was married before don't know name of husband but he was from Canada. She was from NY but don't know maiden name. Cornelius was also married before and had several children with wife May or Mary ? in Canada. They are in 1860 MI census. Yes I do remember meeting you. I have had quite a time just trying to sort out who is who. My grandmother Byrdie is not able to recall family history anymore. I haven't been able to put together more than a few fragments of family members or other pertinent history. I am trying to start with listing all the siblings of my grandfather(Theodore Toles, or "bro") and their children. Can you help?

Samuel Edward Toles 8-21-1866 (Richmond, Indiana)

These people were found in the family Bible of Frank E. Hancock and his wife, Margaret E. Dittemore, Troy, Kansas.
I do not know how they are related and would like very much to know. Also listed under deaths was john Jefferson 4-15-1910 and Joseph Cox 5-2-1889. I do not know if the dates were birth or death.

Hi! I am looking for information on Sampson H. Jay's daughter, Sophia, who married John Eli Weck, in Crawford Co., Il. Their son, John "Jack" Weck married Nancy Mary Meeks. John and Nancy's daughter, Celia, was my paternal grandmother's mother. My father's mother was Hazel Irene Curtis, who was descended from the Inmans (in the Inmman Compendium) and from the Boyds in Crawford Co, Il. I have some census records mentioning Sampsom Jay and his wife and children. Iwould like to help out with your sear ch if I can, and also get info from you, if possible. John and Mary Ann Toles

John Toles was born before 1793 in Genesse County, New York and found in the 1810 Census. His daughter Mary Ann Toles was born 1814 in New York State and died after 1874 either in New York or possibly in Indiana. There were at least two sons and one other daughter, besides Mary Ann, But I do not know their names.
Mary Ann married Abraham Howard abt. 1830 in Martin County, Indiana and after he died she married John McAlpine Before 1868. Records show she raised Frank Howard, son of Abraham Howard, Jr. who was killed in the war. In 1868 records show her name as Mrs. John Alpine, in 1874 records shoow her name as Howard. We have not found anything else since 1874. Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Searching for Toles Family in Ohio

Hi I am Mia Toles-Pickard. I am trying to search out my family tree and document it. I have a good start but past my grandparents it really does get fuzzy for me. Here goes:
My father is Theodore D. Toles Sr. who is the son of Byrdie Brooks-Toles and Theodore Toles. Byrdie and Theodore resided in Massillon, Ohio. I am not sure of where Theodore was born. He had a brother named William and another brother I think they called "Bro". Past that, I have no idea of my Paternal grandfather's lineage. I do know that there are quite a few relatives around. Can any of you help?

I should say .. Hepsibah was the daughter of Lot Toles (b) 1790. and Elizabeth Inman (b) abt. 1796..Hepsibah was the 6th. child of 13 .She (m) William C. Lewis and had Hiram T., Mary Elizabeth , Margaret, Lucria and Ada Esther Lewis .
Hepsibah was my great-grandmother . She later (m) Samuel Fisk . Her son (Hiram (m) Mary Gibson. They had two girls Lily & Iona .Mary E. ,(m) Ernest Elsworth Garzee...they had 9 children ..the 9th. my dad .If anyone knows about Margaret and Lucria......I would like to have that info .
