Trying to find out if the the Carrie Toliver who is on the 1930 census is the same Carrie Tolliver who is on a death certificate from 1929.

Carrie Gifford d/o Henry Gifford & Mary Salyer. Born abt 1901 Ky. Married 1923 Hiram Tolliver, s/o of Davey Crockett & Sally Tolliver.

1930 census Maddox Carter Co. KY has Hiram Toliver age 21 head, Carrie Toliver age 28, May Toliver age 2 yrs and 3 months.

Kentucky death certificate for Carrie Toliver dated Nov 3 1929 Carter Co. KY list her as married female white abt 28 yrs old . Born KY parents James Gifford & Effie Salyer both born KY. Informant Hiram Tolliver.

Is it possible that there are two Carrie Giffords who married Hiram Tolliver? Why the difference in the dates?

it is possible that your lucy ann tollivers is my great grandmother they called "feathers". their children were/are ollie polly virgie oma(omie) and luther. luther was my grandfather on my dads side.

My husband's great grandmother Lucy Ann Tolliver is rumored to be at least part Cherokee she married a Smith Fultz and lived (for a while in Tennessee)

They had at least one daughter still living named Polly Ann and at least one son deceased named Luther

Yes I can ,,,, my mother was Virginia Frances Tolliver Bourland she passed in 1990. She was the daughter of Clarinda and Andrew Tolliver. Clarinda Travis Tolliver was born May 27, 1885, and passed Jan. 6, 1961 I was 2 yrs old so I don't remember her. Andrew Tolliver born Dec. 3, 1870 and passed Dec 21, 1950. I wasn't born yet. Then Hiram L. Tolliver was his father and he married Rachel Defoe which I haven't any info on. I hope this is a start. Thank you kindly for the response. I know Wade Hampton Tolliver born Sept. 24, 1816 passed in 1882 and he married Malinda Stewart who died in 1880. Thats it for now. Hope that you can be of some help. I am of the WILLIAM TOLLIVER and WADE HAMPTON TOLLIVER family. I have just started my search and could use all the help I can get for I do not have a whole lot of information yet...so PLEASE anyone with any info ...I could sure use your help. THIS IS MY LINE...My ggggrandfather was WILLIAM TOLLIVER and I have found that he had a child with ELVIRA JOHNSON who was WADE HAMPTON TOLLIVER my gggrandfather and I believe they are from North Carolina. WADE HAMPTON married MALINDA STEWART and had a son ANDREW JACKSON TOLLIVER who was my ggrandfather. Andrew married MELVINA JACKSON and had a son SAMUEL who was my grandfather. SAMUEL married DAISY BUCKLEY and of this marriage there was only one child GEORGE WILLIAM TOLLIVER...who was my father.I don't have much more than names. John Wesley Tolliver, 1850-1890, Benton County, Missouri

I am looking for anyone that might have information on the death of John Wesley Tolliver, born about 1850 and died 1890 (Missouri) and is buried at Hastain Cemetery, Benton Co., MO. He was the husband of Martha Ann Hobbs (called Mattie). Their son, James William Tolliver, 1886-1956, Warsaw, MO was my grandfather. I can not find a death certificate or death notice of any kind and am very curious as to why he died at the age of 40. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am a great great granddaughter to Noah B.Tolliver, and I am familiar with the Glover name. My great grandfather, Melvin Tolliver(b Aug3, 1885) is Hattie Tolliver-Glover's brother. Yes her anscestors were involved in the Tolliver-Martin Feud in KY. One of Hattie's Uncles (Jacob Finley) which was Noah B's brother was killed towards the end of the feud.
