I have a William Tolzman born 16 jan 1853 and died 30 mar 1930, his death certificate says he is the son of William and Albertine Borchert Tolzmann.
I have him as being born to a Ludwig Frederick "William" and Augusta Wock Tolzmann. Does any one have any information on this person or both. I found his death certificate at the Waseca County Courthouse in Waseca, MN.
Any info would help. Thank you.

When the Tolzman families came from the old country, they all had the two n's on their names, over the years, one n fell away with most of the Tolzmann's.
I have done extensive research into the Tolzmann families this past year, I'm still missing alot of names but have a pretty good base.
How do you fit into the Wilhelm clan? I've got 3 William's at this point all born with in a few years of each other. It's getting really confusing.
RA

I have not located a great number of Tolzmanns but there are some. They are spelled with one "n" or some with two "n"s.
My line came to America about 1873 to 1875

Guess what! Found an old paper copy of the work Don did in June of 1986. After looking so long is stange that the minute I ask about it one shows up. Don lists five children and three boys (the only ones that really seemed to count). Friedrich of German Lake, Karl of Renville and Wilhelm of Minnesota Lake. I come from a Wilhelm branch but I cannot fit us into the names he has tho it sounds like at the time he thought that was us. Have you ever heard of the work? I have written Don more times with never an answer over the years. Write me and we can discuss this further in another venue.
