I'll throw this out there... Maybe someone will recognize something...
My great-grandmother, Judith Tomas, was born in Austria-Hungary on 20 Jun 1878. Her father was Paul Tomas. I know that she lived in the area that was known as Hacso in Gomor County. The area is now called Hacava, and is in Slovakia. Judith married Stefan Macko some time around 1900. Stefan was married previously, but his first wife passed away. I know that Stefan's parents were Andrew Macko and Anna Balint. Family legend has it that Judith was a baker at Stefan's first wedding. Stefan's first marriage produced one child, Juliana Martha Macko, born 13 Dec 1895 in Hacso (Hacava). Julia Martha passed away in Florida in 1978.
Judith and Stefan had twin boys, Andrew and Steven Macko on 17 Feb 1902 in Hacso. They then had John Macko on 14 Aug 1903, and Susan Margaret on 14 Jun 1906. According to the church records in Cleveland, Andrew and Steven were baptized at the evangelisch church (lutheran) in Hacava in 1902.
Stefan emigrated to the United States in 1907, and settled in Cleveland, Ohio. Judith followed in 1910 with the 4 kids. She travelled aboard the Pannonia, which sailed from Fiume. In Ohio, Stefan and Judith had Paul, Anna, Michael, George, Irene, and Helen. Juliana emigrated to the U.S. in 1914, and joined the family.
