Julia Lucille Szabo Tomczak
Julia Lucille Szabo Tomczak, age 49,
of Erie, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center.
Born in Erie on April 19, 1959
she was the daughter of Florence Kieklak Szabo and the late Louis C. Szabo.
Julia attended St. Casimir and St. Benedict Schools.
She was a former owner of the Colonial Bakery,
and was a telephone operator for Verizon.
She was a member of St. Casimir Church,
enjoyed baking, bingo,
the casino, playing cards
and arts and crafts.
Julia had a big heart and enjoyed helping people.
In addition to her father
she was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Survivors include her mother, Florence Szabo;
a brother Louis M. Szabo of Erie;
a good friend Melody Brown;
her godmother Theresa Zaborowski;
several aunts, uncles
and cousins.
Her four Yorkies, Tabitha, Corry,
Lisa Marie and Zachary, were the loves of her life.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road,
on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Saturday
at 10:15 a.m. followed by a
Mass of Christian burial at St. Casimir Church
at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James T. O’Hara presiding.
Burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
