I started working on my Tonini family genealogy recently. My great grandfather is Michel or Michael Tonini from Bignasco, Switzerland, just across a small river from Cavergno. He was born in either 1852, 1853 or 1854 and he came to San Fran in the 1860s. Do you have any further information? If so, I'm willing to share what I have, including a few personal photos of Cavergno and Bignasco that I took in 11/99.

My g-grandfather, Antonio Tonini b. 1849 in Cavergno, Switzerland, came to the US in 1866 and settled in Marin & Sonoma counties. He married Sabina Mattei in 1880 in Petaluma. She was born 1851 in Cevio, Switzerland and came to the US in 1878. His parents were Abbondio Tonini and Maddalena Dado. Cavergno is not far from Locarno.

Looking for Tonini's from Risciola, Pietra Santo and Viareggio, Italy.

My Grandfather, Arturo Tonini came to America in the early 1900's aboard the ship Liguria. His parents were Pasquale Tonini and Rosina Georgina. His mother died in 1886 due to long term complications with his birth in 1885. Pasquale then married Allesandra Giambelli and they had two children, Nello and Pietro. I know that both Nello and Pietro stayed in Italy, and had families. Pietro married Beppina Georgina and they had a daughter Sandrina. Sandrina married Mario Brescaini and they two children that I know of, Enrico and Daniella. Pietro died about 1974. I know that my aunt Rose Tonini and been to visit them, last time I think was in the seventies. Please contact me if you know anything.

In the christian marriage records here in Brazil I found that my 'bisnono' Domingos Tonini came from Sirolo, a small city near to Ancona.
Perhaps they could had met in Ancona?

Seeking information on Adele Tonini B: 11/15/1891 in Costello, Arquato, Italy. Father's name was Joseph Tonini, Mother's name Giovanna Sesenor.
Adele married Leopoldo Tagliaferri and they migrated to Framingham, MA from Piacenza some time in the 1920's or 1930's.

Hi Pat!

My family is from Ancona, which is very close to Rimini in the the province of Marche. My grandfather's name was Rigoberto Tonini and my grandmother (they were first cousins) Regina Morini. My grandfather was killed in the 1930's for being an anarchist. My grandmother never remarried.
She went to Argentina in the 1950's with my father and his brother. My father's name is Bruno, born in 1927, died 1988. I was born in Bahia Blanca, and went to the United States with my mother, Linda Tonini and my father, in 1963. My brither Marcello and sister Lynda, were born there too. We returned to Argentina in 1975, and went to high school in Bahia. We returned to the United States in 1982. Maybe our grandfather and grandmother were related? I can write in Castellano, if you prefer!

My grandmother was Giullia Tonini. Her parents were Lazzaro Tonini and Giovanna Salicioni, both italians. Giullia was born in Montescudo (Rimini, Italy) on 14 of october of 1885. She married there on the 16th. of april of 1906 with Amato Gàsperi. Then they came to Argentina where Amato was killed. Later, she got married again in Viedma (RN, Arg.) with Giovanni Falca (my grandfather), also italian from the province of Torino. I don´t know where. If some know something of this family, please write me. I want to know if I have relatives in Italy or anywhere. Thank you.Pat from Viedma (RN, Arg)
