In my files I have details of several Jeremiah TOOHEYs. Some of the details are confusing and conflicting. I wonder if you can help me sort them out.

1. Jeremiah TOOHEY m Maria P BULLOCK 1877 Balmain ( ref No 1349) The marriage is listed in the BDM as TORKEY. These are my husbands G Grandparents. As they lived in Forbes NSW I assume that he is the Jeremiah TOOHEY buried in Forbes Catholic cemetery June 1924 age 83 years, although there is no death record listed in the NSW BDM.

2. Jeremiah TOOHEY son of Stephen and Mary (RYAN) TOOHEY. born 1868 ( No 18395 -registered as Darby) died 27 Jan 1915 age 46 yrs, buried at Gunning NSW.

3. Jeremiah TOOHEY m Mary BARRY Sydney 1886 (No 765). This couple had at least 9 children, one of whom was Jeremiah S TOOHEY b 1896 Newtown (no 14904) and died 1923 Burwood NSW (No 6582)

4. Jeremiah TOOHEY m Veronica M O’Neill 1913 Lockhart (No 15447)

5. Jeremiah TOOHEY d 1923 age 85 years.Rydalmere Mental Hospital (no 7813)

I have searched many sources, including several websites which give conflicting information concerning Jeremiah 2, and Jeremiah 3. One site claims that Jeremiah 2 never married , another claims that Jeremiah 2 and 3 are the same person.

If anyone has any information I would be most appreciative. I have not as yet gone to the expense of purchasing copies of certificates.
