My Grandmother was Linnie Yeager from fairview WVA. Her maiden name was toothman. Her real name was Melinda and I was named after her. She died in 1970 and is buried in the fairview methodist church cemm. The name Linnie is on her tomestone. Her husband was Presley Yeager. I don't have a lot of info on her but my father was her youngest son Lester Adrian Yeager. I am also looking for info on my family. My father has passed but my mother may know some things to help you. The Toothmans used to have an annual reunion we would attend when I was a girl so perhaps we can figure this out

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find the parents of Jacob Toothman, husband of Zila Forest. He lived in Coshocton, Ohio-according to the census, in Pike, West Carlisle, and Perry counties over the years. He was probably born in 1821 (one census said 1832, but it probably wasn't correct), and his parents were born in either Ohio or Virginia. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kate

Hoult, Toothman & Related Family photographs

We are seeking the help of relatives who may be able to identify photographs that once belonged to Martha Jane (Hoult) Toothman (1850-1931) who was the wife of Thornton Jacob Toothman and the daughter of John Cunningham Hoult and his first wife Susanna Bare. Martha was raised by her paternal grandparents, John B. Hoult and Elizabeth (Cunningham) Hoult, who are pictured in her collection. In addition to the Hoults, some photos in the collection may represent Martha’s husband’s family, Thronton was the son of Charles Toothman & Mahala (Arnett) Toothman.

The identified photos can be seen online at www.greeneconnections.com in the Photo Archives Index under Hoult and Toothman, each family has an album. While there please be sure to click on the Unidentified link in each album to view the unidentified photos to see if you recognize anyone or if you have any photos that could be compared.

We are very interested in hearing from anyone who could help. Contact information is on the web site with the photos. If you have photos you would like to add to the project those are most welcome too.

The photos currently posted belong to Toothman descendants residing in Greene County, Pennsylvania.

Thank you for any help!
I can't believe someone finally answered that posting.
Since that time...I have been able to find the Toothman information. My great grandmother was Verna Toothman Fox, sister of Jackson Toothman. I was about 10 years old when Verna died...I can remember her.
I met a woman in 2005 who is in her 90's and her father was John Fleming Toothman, another brother of Verna's.
I found the Toothman cemetery and took picturs of the old Toothman stones...it was quite a climb.
I have Jackson Toothmans' obituary and see that if Mable is your mother, then we are talking about your grandfather.
I would love to see any photos...and the lady I met gave me photos also and I believe one is of Jackson and Elsie..it's really old. She also gave me James and Marcella's photo...Jackson's parents...I was thrilled
Do you live in Mt. Morris as the paper said you mother did?
I do not belong to Ancestry.com but am able to pick up messages.
My e-mail is cma556@juno.com.....if you want to exchange photos that way....or anything of information.
I'll be waiting to hear from you.
Cathy

Children of Michael Toothman and Barbara Valentine

Hello,

I have came across a couple of names in Coshocton county, Ohio that be some missing children to Michael and Barbara. The names are Jacob and Phillip. Jacob was born Sept. 15, 1806 ? and d. Feb. 1, 1838 in Coshocton County, Ohio, he is buried in West Carlisle cemetery and the stone is still legible. His wife was Margaret Gautt and they were married in Coshocton in 1829. One son of Michael and Barbara was Michael who married Catherine Ault in 1831, I figured this time frame is so close that Jacob could be a missing brother. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Phillip was married to a Nancy.

Hi, None of these names are familiar to me, sorry. Go to search, type in "Unknown Toothman." When you are done searching that, look up "descendants of Stephan Fluharty." And, always read any post of Rick Toothman's you can find on the net. If you can give him a specific name and timeline on either family, if anyone can help you, he can. He will at least certainly try to point you in the right direction. Best wishes, Debi
Hello Dee,
My name is David Middleton. David Toothman would be my ggg grandfather. I am realted to the Toothman side through two of the siblings of William and Erie (Araam) Alkire (
Toothman). My dads grandfather married Clarenda Alkire and my dads grandmother was Love Alkire, married to Henry Cunningham. My quest is the (seemingly hard to find) data on David Toothman's grandfather Michael Duchmann and Barbara Fox's family line. Do you know the siblings of Michael and Barbara. Obvious to note that John Toothman is one son. In Decatur county IN it appears John had brothers George, Philip ? and possibly Jacob or Joseph ? But I don't have any data other than what the fed census show. Thank You for any info you may be able to provide, David .

I dont know if we are related or not, but my great grandfather was Fred C. Toothman. I never knew his middle name, so cant help much there. His son, my grandfather, was Earnest B. Toothman of Fairmont, W.Va. and his son, my Father, is Fred A. Toothman. We left Fairmont when I was 6 and that was 48 years ago. I do know that our Fred C. also had a son named Raymond, a daughter who died at a young age, and I believe a daughter or sister by the name of Sarah Jane. Good luck tracking down your roots. I have just started and it is quite complicated.
