John Torrent Journal

I came across an accounting journal for John Torrent at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. It covers the period March 1, 1895 - February 27, 1897. There is also a "Statement of Accounts" for Petrie - Torrent for 1886-1891. I am curious as to how these records for a Muskegon businessman came to be in Wisconsin.

Photo and approx 2 pages of Civil War activities available on CSA Captain J. F Torrent with notations of his sea faring exploits to Cuba, Nassau and elsewhere.

b. 7.17.1834 @ Baltimore MD and removed to Charleston SC with family as a youth. Family members may be viewed in the 1860 US Census.

Eugene Jerome Torrent's wife was Ruby. I am also working on this family. Eugene had a sister - Mary Agnes. She was married to my great-grandfather. I would love to talk to you by email on the ancestors and descendants of this family

Looking for the Torrent family of Muskegon, Michigan. My cousin-in-law just found the obituary notice below in Canadian archives which says they are cousins in our family tree, but we don't know how they are related. Note that my family spelled our name 2 ways: Honner Honor.

Your great grandmother Mary Ann Torrent Durham may be either the daughter of Caroline Honner Torrent, or her sister-in-law. The Honner (or Honor) family at the time all were from Port Hope, Ontario also. We were having a difficult time putting the Honner/Torrents in the family tree, but you just provided us with a great clue! We may be from the same original family.

Still looking for the Caroline Honner (1882-1927) & John Torrent family of Muskegon, Michigan. Family was originally Tarrent of Ontario Canada. He was a lumber barron & mayor of Muskegon abt. 1887. Children: Squire E. Torrent, Ida Torrent, Nellie Torrent (m. Delos M. Stever), Fred L. Torrent, John Torrent, Ray Torrent, Lewis Torrent.

My Great Grand mother was Mary Ann Torrent,
born in Port Hope Ontario, died in Muskegon in 1918, and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Muskegon. Don't know much about her but would sure like to learn more. She was married to Henry Francis Durham.

Maryjan: Pleased to receive your message, I don't really have any more info on Mary Ann other than that she is bruied in Oakwood Cemetery, in Muskegon With my Great grandfather, My Grandparents and My Father among others, Their name was spelled as Duram however Durham and Duram were used interchangebly in my family. Yes I wasd born and raised in Muskegon and have many faimly members there. I now live in Fremont

I am looking for ancestors of J.A. Torrent from S.C. He was a stevedore and he moved to Florida with his family. I don't know the wife's name. The children are: Mary Agnes b. 1882,Eugene b. 1884, Gerome b. 1893, Isabelle b. 1894 and William b. 1891. J.A. was born in 1850. this information came from the 1895 state census of florida
