Member Conduct and Use
This community is your forum for sharing thoughts, experiences, resources and discoveries. We appreciate your participation. However, we ask that you carefully read and follow the guidelines below. You'll find that most of them come naturally to you.

As a community member, please:
For starters, simply treat others the way you want to be treated.
Respond to the subject (and not the person) if you disagree with something in a post.
Share only your own thoughts, ideas and content.
Post only information appropriate for a given topic. For example, if you're posting on the "Lansing" surname board, you should be writing only in reference to a "Lansing" connection. If you're posting on the US, regional or international board, you must be making reference to the appropriate location.
On the other hand, please:
Don't post any photos of living individuals (other than just you) or anyone else's email addresses without their consent.
Don't harass, abuse or threaten other members.
Don't post any content that's vulgar, hateful, sexually explicit, illegal or otherwise offensive.
Don't post commercial messages, fee-for-service postings, advertising or related links, etc.
Don't include identifiable information about living people without their direct consent, or, in the case of minors, the consent of their parent or guardian. This includes (but is not limited to) a person's full name, location or contact information.
Don't post anything you didn't personally create. That includes copyrighted material you're not authorized to distribute, email messages, notes in GEDCOMs, etc. Read our copyright policy if you have questions.
Don't impersonate any individual, business or other entity. Don't pretend to be an employee or representative of Ancestry.com Operations Inc. or anyone affiliated with the Ancestry.com Operations Inc. family of companies, properties or affiliates.
Don't post a "seeking information" (query) message with a non-query (data) menu classification selection.
We reserve the right to delete messages that violate our terms and conditions, move messages posted in the wrong place and edit the surname field, subject line, etc. in any message. We reserve the right to do any of the above without notice in order to preserve community integrity and ensure that people can find what they're seeking.

Torres was not from New Mexico).

Together they had nine children, my mom, Jessie Martinez Torres, was one of the nine.

Soon after having their last child, Eugenia left the family. My mother, for obvious reasons, never spoke of her mother.

I do not know what happened to Eugenia. Why she left, if she remarried, or if she had any other children.

Please contact me...

Carolina Torres (Martinez)

I am searching for a Carolina Torres who was married to Soloman LeRouge. They had a son, Sam, born about 1922 in New Mexico. I have 2 possible choices for Carolina's family: Arolina Torres Martinez, daughter of Juan Torres and Maria Josepha Martinez. The family lived in Abiquiu, Rio Arriba, NM. Juan and Josefa had 2 other daughter listed in the 1900 census--Adelaida and Amarante. My second Carolina was the dau. of Donaciano and Teresa/Tereza Torres who lived in Socorro in 1900 census. This Carolina was born Jan 1900 and had brothers Hilario, Benito, Pablo, Joaquin, Frank and Porforio. Any help/direction/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Valerie.

POW/MIA Korean War, TORRES

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave TORRES as his home of record. His remains were never recovered. Our government has no family contact at this time for this soldier

Soldier: RALPH LOPEZ TORRES
Born: 1928
Date of loss: Sept. 9, 1952 KIA
Home of Recoed, Los Angeles County, Calif

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Re: Arriola Family Tree

My paternal grandmother was named Maria Antonio Bermea Arriola. She was born in Rosales, Mexico in 1864 and died in San Antonio, Texas at 96 years of age in 1960.
She grew up in Rosales but left Mexico in 1911 to keep her husband and three sons out of the revolution of 1910. The rest of her life she lived in Texas.
Many times I heard her talk of Nacogdoches and of relatives there. She also talked of the land deeds to land in Nacogdoches but I never saw these.
My wife has worked on the genealogy of the Bermea and Arriola families but has made no prpgress over what I say here Help Help Help May I hear from you?
