There were 11 kids:

Laura (eldest)[married a Jamison, I believe), William E., Harry F (had a son Warren), Charles, Ella (married a Schandes sp?), Jennie (married a Brown), Sarah (married a Almony), Joe, Verna (died 1890),Howard, and Ida M (married a Pyle).

Slater Towson and Mary Jane Bradley had 7 children; I could probably find their birth/date dates, etc, but they aren't here by the computer:

Ella, Jennie, Sarah, Laura, William, Harry, and Charles. Charles is my great-grandfather and he married Lillian Emma Williamson daughter of William Thomas Williamson and Amanda Emma Harris & they had 7 children.

Eliana
And I hope this reaches YOU! I am also a descendant of Elizabeth Towson. She married David Parks b. 1742 d. 23 Jan 1814. They had a lot of children -- I am descended from their son, Peter Parks b. 1764 d. 5 Oct 1854. I do not know much about her family, except she's from Baltimore b. 1772 and d. in PA about 1820. Maybe by now you have more info -- or we can pool some of our stuff. I have a lot more on PARKS right now. Oh, and Elizabeth Towson married David Parks 7 April 1794 in Baltimore, MD. Email me at DebeT@comcast.net

Hello,

I have a James Edward Towson (1808-1888) who was the son of Thomas Towson (1779-1861) and Eleanor Norman (1781-1848). Thomas was born in Baltimore County, Maryland and moved to Stafford County, Virginia c.1823. He and Eleanor had 11 known children. James Edward married Agnes Ann Suttle (c.1811-1865). I suspect that your James Edward Towson may have been the son of the above. I have dates 1831-1893 for James the younger.

I hope this reaches you as your e-mail address was from 2000. I recently discovered that my 3rd great grandmother was Elizabeth Towson from Baltimore Co. Md. She married a Parks around 1790 then moved into Pa. where my 2nd great grandfather, Thomas Parks was born. He had a brother named David and a sister Elizabeth. They moved on into Muskingum Co., Ohio where Thomas married Elizabeth Ogle circa 1832. He and she moved on into Brown Co., Ind. where my gr. grandmother Ruth Parks was born. Thomas died in the 1850s there. I am trying to find Elizabeth Towson's parent's name and possibly the parents of her husband _? Parks. I hope you can help me. Thank you, Ruth-a Towson descendant

The mere fact there are "records" in LDS does not necessarily mean they are true and factual. I too am of the Thomas and Sarah {?} Towson line. So far as I am able to ascertain, 5 th great grandmother, Dorcas Towson, was the sister of William Towson m 1. Ruth Gott 2. Dinah Wilmott. The only Catherine Allen I have found is a daughter of William namerd Catherine who m 1. a man named {?} Allen then 2. John Avery. Dorcas m 1. Henry Sater 2. John Howard There was no Gossage/Ossage/Oussage involved. If someone can prove otherwise I am willing to listen. People have Check the William listed b 1685 d 1772 Balt. Co., Md. you will find he inherited From his father Thomas wife Sarah {?}. He was b in Balt. Co. ca 1712. Dorcas his probable sister I have even seen as d/o Ezekiel. There is, also, the probability that Darius was a brother of William. Ed Merryman

Towson Family

Dear Sir or Ms; I have been doing Towson and Sater for several years. I know of the other Towsons. I havv not been able to find any connection with Oliver Cromwell. The only one of his line that I know of that came to America was Henry and Elizabeth {Russell} Cromwell's son Thomas Ireton Cromwell. One of his descendants Curtis Cromwell, m a member of my Houk line, not mine. I still thihk, as does at least one other, the confusion is with William's daughter having m an unnamed Alle. There wer quite a few Towsons in England the last time I checked. I also think the name could have been Toussaint. I hardly believe the Munich story either. There are some trying to place Dorcas as a daughter of William and a sister of Ezekiel and the others. I have no definite proof but I remain certain in my own mind that she is William's sister. Another story is that she m 2. a Mr. Gossage, now even Ossage and that has even madde her middle name by some. She m a John Howard. There names are on a deed. Since her daughter, Prudence, m Benjamin Howard I have wondered if there was a connection. I have also seen that stupid story of 2 brothers hacking their way through the woods from Pa. to Md. If someone can prove any connection with Cromwell I will buy it. Until then I will put it with the fairy tales I have run across in a couple other places in my family. Sincerely Ed Edwin C. mMerryman

The William Towson 1712/1772 who you refer to was son of Thomas Towson 1688/1728. He was indeed married to Dinah Wilmot 1716/1740 and then Ruth Gott. The William Towson b:1685 married to Catherine Allen 1689/1735 was the brother of Thomas 1688/1728, and Charles Towson b: 1680, all sons of Thomas Towson b: 1654 and Mary unknown.

Mr. Merryman;
What is your connection to the TOWSON line?
I agree with what you say regarding the records submitted, as I know two of the submitters and where they got their information. I have documentation on my family line of Towsons back to Charles Towson of Harford County, MD circa 1768. Beyond him, I have little interest unless it is documented which no one seems to have.
Mildred b. about 1900-03 Maryland

Am looking for information on a Mildred Towson (or Townsend, Townson, etc.) that was born in Maryland in the early 1900's. All my mother-in-law knows about her mother is that her first name was Mildred.Her maiden name was "Towson, Townsend, or something like that." That she was born in Maryland and part of a "large" family. That during her youth she lived on a farm. She was a seamstress and an usherette. In 1920 she was living in Baltimore, MD with Theodore Schumacher. In 1930 she was in Buffalo, NY with her daughter, but not Theodore. She died a few years later.
I have been searching the 1910 census records for MD, but haven't had any luck yet. Does this sound like a cousin or aunt in someone's family? As far as I know, she only had one child, a daughter born about 1920. No birth record found for the daughter.
