William and Elizabeth Trabert, b. 1822, 1823 in Saxony, Germany, lived in Eaton County, MI

I am looking for information on William Trabert and his wife, Elizabeth (maiden name unknown). Their children are
Christena b abt 1848, MD
Henry b abt 1850, MD
George b. 1852 , MD
Elizabeth b. 1855, MD
Frances b. 1858, MD
Henry C. b. 1864, DC

William was born in Saxony, Germany and came to the US in 1844 or 1845. In the 1850 census, he is in Baltimore, MD and is a shoemaker and 28 years old. His wife is Elizabeth lives there, as do 2 of his children, Christena 2, and Henry 8 months. Also living with them is Louisa Cummings.

In 1852, they have a son George in Baltimore followed by daughter Elizabeth in 1855 and daughter Francis in 1858.

In the 1860 Census, they are still in Baltimore, but there is no Christena or Henry listed.

Son Henry C. was born in Washington DC in 1864. I don't know why there are two Henrys.

I cannot find them in the 1870 Census, but in 1880 they show up in Bellevue, Eaton County, MI. They only have Henry and Frances at home, but the other children are accounted for, except for William, Christena, and George.

In the 1900 Census they are still in Bellevue, Eaton County, MI, living by themselves.

I cannot find them in the 1910, 1920, or 1930 Census. I am hoping that someone will recognize this family. Thank you

Dear Gerhard,
thank you for the info regarding Germany. I do not have a Sophia; my John Trabert came to US in 1850, but I have yet to locate the exact record. He settled in PA with other Germans who were all from the same area in Germany, and because there were Traberts in
that same area (north and east of Kassel), I feel my Trabert could be from this area. Would that be considered Prussia?
Carole
