Hi there -- Looking for any info on the Trampe family/families of Mennighueffen, Grimminghausen, and Schnathorst, all in Westfalen, Germany. Mainly Mennighueffen but the other two seem to pop up a lot on records as well. Some of them moved to Nebraska in the mid-late 1800's, with my own family moving up to Minnesota around the turn of the century. My great grandfather was Heinrich Friedrich b. 17 Nov 1867 in Mennighueffen or Schnathorst (conflicting records), emigrated to NE around 1885; his father Ernst Heinrich Wilhelm Trampe b. 21 Jan 1827, also emigrated to the US, probably with his son. Does this possibly tie in with anyone else's family? I have names at least that go back pretty far on my own line, but there seem to be a lot of Trampe's in this area and I haven't been able to find the root of this. Anybody else have a Trampe family from there? I believe the Nebraska Trampes come from Mennighueffen as well and I assume there's a link but haven't found it yet on my own line ... Frustrating... Any thoughts? BTW Also could use info on the parents of Albert Heinrich Kroeger b. 1744 in Grimminghausen, Westfalen. Thanks very much!
