Your world tree link didn't work. Check this page for Katherine Treat, if you think that is her then yes, she is related to Robert Treat Paine, and I assume you mean the one who signed the Declaration of Independance. If that is her I can pull you a report out of my database that will show the relationship. They are also descended from Gov. Robert Treat of early Conn.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ltreat/bro...

Laurel Treat

If you send me your e-mail address I will send you the pictures I took of the painting to sell it. There was a lot of interest. I paid 15 dollars for it and it sold for 150. despite the condition, which requires restoration work. It will go for a lot more, I estimate 1,200 or so when someone fixes it. My e-mail is fountainheadbooks@verizon.net I will be happy to send you the photos.

I picked the painting up at an estate sale. It was not in the best of condition but I sold it just today to a new orleans resident. The painting subject was either a sunrise or sunset on what I surmise was the Gulf of Mexico. It has no information, I gained what I could from an art network and I contacted the Louisianna State Museum about it to see if they were interested despite the painting and frame needing work. You should know that one of her paintings, a portrait, is on display at the Lousianna State Museum in New Orleans. She apparently was a well known painter. -Michael Z. of Fountainhead Books, Philadelphia

I am fascinated by this information. I wasn't aware she was an artist, although several of her descendants including her son James Webster had artistic talent. To be the same person as my ancestor, this painting would have to be from the mid to late 1800s. She grew up in upstate NY and then spent most of her life in New Orleans. Do you have any information on the provenance? Also, is the painting for sale?
Thank you.

Good morning,

I was reading your reply and you said you have been doing research for several years. I was wondering if you have any of these people in your treat family tree. My mother's material mother was Dorothy Treat. Dorothy's parents name was Pearly and Sadie Treat. Sadie's maiden name was Hamilton. Pearly and Sadie children were William H. Born Dec 02, 1908 died May 30, 1985, Alice Born April 11, 1911 died Jan 15, 19141, Johnny Born Jan 03, 1918 Died Aug 30, 1921, Dorothy born March 03, 1913 Died Dec 07, 1992. There is also a son named Charles R Born around 1922 I haven't found much information about Charles. I do know from the obituary he attended Williams funeral along with Dorothy. It read that Charles lived in Long Beach California and Dorothy lived in Nevada.
Thanks
Rolanda Stone

PLEASE NOTE, THIS WAS POSTED FOR REFERENCE ONLY. I AM NOT RELATED TO, NOR AM I RESEARCHING THIS FAMILY, I’VE ONLY DONE A COPY AND PASTE FROM OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER FYI.

THIS INFO HAS BEEN POSTED WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE EDITOR OF THE COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD.

LeiAnn K. Treat
Posted: Friday, Nov 28, 2008 - 03:30:06 pm PST
COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD, MOSES LAKE. WASHINGTON.

LeiAnn K. Treat passed away Nov. 25, 2008, in Spokane after losing a battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 5, 1963, in San Diego, Calif.

LeiAnn's family moved from San Diego to Federal Way, Wash., where LeiAnn and brother Jason attended elementary school. The next family move was to Vashon Island. LeiAnn attended high school on Vashon where she played softball and was active in 4-H. She was once the Junior Champion Showman at the King County Fair. LeiAnn graduated from Vashon High School as part of class known as the "Pirate Crew of '82."

LeiAnn graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1986 with a BA in recreation therapy. After graduation she worked for Deaconess Hospital in Spokane and Inner Lake School in Medical Lake before getting married to husband Dennis in 1989. LeiAnn and Dennis moved to Moses Lake after a honeymoon in St. Thomas. She then continued her career in Moses Lake until the birth of daughter Jackie on Nov. 5, 1991. Son Jacob followed in 1993. LeiAnn embraced the role of stay-at-home mom for several years until Jackie and Jacob began school.

LeiAnn returned to work and discovered her career passion as a real estate agent. She was employed by Jeff Foster at GMAC Real Estate for several years and truly loved her work and the people that she worked with.

LeiAnn had a love for Jesus Christ, accepting him as her savior. Her other love was for her family. One of LeiAnn's parting wishes was that her family and friends would come to know Jesus as their savior too.

LeiAnn is survived by husband Dennis and children Jackie and Jacob of Wilson Creek. She is survived by her mother, Jackie Bates, of Moses Lake, father Ron (Jan) Bates of Scott Lake, Wash., brother Jason (Robin) Bates of Warden, and step-brother Scott Bates of Los Angeles, Calif.

Thank you to all who have prayed for LeiAnn. Our family extends a very special thank you for the kindness and generosity of many in the community of Wilson Creek and also to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Moses Lake. We appreciate the thoughtfulness of many of you in this time of sorrow for LeiAnn's family.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Pastor Floyd Wilks officiating. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. Private family inurnment will follow at a later date in the Wilson Creek Cemetery. You may sign the guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.

Re: Albert C and Leonard Treat

Census
1880, KS, Leavenworth Co, Tonganoxie Twp, E D 148 sheet 32, family #309:

TREAT, Leonard S, age 47, born Maine
TREAT, Susan, age 46, wife, born Maine
TREAT, Albert, age 14, son, born Maine
CLEMMONS, Mary, age 11, lives with family, born Kansas

So, based on this record Albert C Treat was the son of Leonard S & Susan TREAT. I did not find the family on the 1870 census, so I tracked back to the 1860 census to find Leonard TREAT living with Mrs Amelia TREAT, probably his mother.

1860, ME, Waldo Co, Stockton, family #453:

Mrs Amelia TREAT, age 53, born Maine
Leonard TREAT, age 28, born Maine
Oliver F TREAT, age 25, born Maine
James TREAT, age 20, born Maine
Crawford TREAT, age 17, born Maine
Verona TREAT, age 14, born Maine
Harriet TREAT, age 11, born Maine
Samuel SAUNDERS, age 12, born Maine

Going back 10 more years:

1850, ME, Waldo Co, Prospect, page 162, family #28

Amos TREAT, age 46, born Maine
Amelia P TREAT, age 43, born Maine
Phebe S TREAT, age 20, born Maine
Leonard S [or L] TREAT, age 18, born Maine
Oliver F TREAT, age 14, born Maine
James M TREAT, age 10, born Maine
Crawford F TREAT, age 6, born Maine
?Verene E TREAT, age 3, born Maine
Harriet E TREAT, age 1, born Maine

The standard text for the early history of the TREAT family is the 1893 publication by John Harvey Treat, "The Treat Family ..." This book is available in digital format several places online one of which is a project at BYU at the following link:

http://contentdm.lib.byu.edu/cdm4/document.php?CISOROOT=%2FF...

On page 287 of the book it is stated that Amos TREAT was the son of Robert TREAT and Mary RIDLEY. Robert TREAT's ancestry is traced back to the immigrant TREAT elsewhere in the book. I encourage you to explore it further. Additional information of the Amos TREAT family can be found on page 356.

I hope you will find this information helpful and good luck with the rest of your research.

Gary Treat
I can't remember the name of the cemetery but I will look it up later.
Their children were: Flossie E, Leonard F, Joseph C, Asa E, Florence B, Charles W, Ethel A, Floyd A, Ozella B.

I'm stuck.

Albert Charles Treat (my great grandfather)
B: 01 Aug 1865, ME, United States.
Homsteaded in Oklahoma in 1902
D: 06 April 1935
He was an only child.

was married to

Minnie Viola Hollingsworth (my great grandmother)
B: 05 Sept 1874, in Iowa.
D: 24 Sept 1946, in Wichita, Kansas
I have been able to trace her line back quite a ways.

Alberts dad was (I THINK)

Leonard S Treat or Leonard F Treat.
B: abt 1833 in Maine
Lived in Tonganoxie, Kansas around 1880
D:Colorado

married to

Susan (I THINK). I have no last name for her.
B: 1834?
Lived in Tonganoxie, Kansas around 1880
Had a Sister named Susan
I do not know when she died.

On the 1880 Census record, it also shows that a Mary Clemmens lived with Leonard and Susan and their son Albert. I don't know if she was Susan's by a prior marriage or what her relation to them was.

I can't seem to find any more definite information about Leonard, Susan and Albert Treat. Nor can I find any more definite information about Mary Clemmens.

Can anyone help me get over this hump?

I also cannot find any information about my Grandmother Treat. Her maiden name was
Thelma Katherine Lenox.
She died about 1946.
She was married to Clarence Joseph (or Joseph Clarence) Treat. They tended to switch the first and middle names around.
B: 28 Aug 1897 in Oklahoma
Lived in Wichita, Kansas then in Toronto, Kansas
D: 10 Dec 1985 in Toronto, Kansas

I would appreciate any information you may have about this.

Descendants of Matthias Treat of Middletown Conn.:

Descendants of the Harris family and other early settlers (1650-1700) of Middletown, Conn. will be pleased to know that the Society of Middletown (Conn.) First Settlers Descendants new content-rich web site is now online in its entirety. For an introductory period the entire site will be accessible to all. Eventually access to the Member Area will be restricted by password, as our board felt that the member area content would provide incentive for membership, along with our newsletter, The Middler. But in any case, even in the public area there will always be plenty of useful information for Middletown genealogy and local history enthusiasts.

The site features biographical sketches of Matthias Treat and the other first settlers, local history essays, a directory of research destinations, a comprehensive bibliography, an archive of past newsletters, links to relevant books online, membership information, and much more.

You can find the site via Google: "Middletown First Settlers". (Some old dead links from our old web site may show up, but they will fade away in the near future.) Or you can bookmark this link:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctsmfsd/Index.html

Feel free to pass on information about the site --- or the SMFSD --- to interested researchers.

R.W. Click on it and when it comes up, go to the bottom of the page and put in Mason Stephen in as her spouse. You will then find numerous items on Nancy about her family, where she was born, where is is buried and other items. Hope this will help you.

Hi, I'm looking for any information on Ione Treat. Treat is her maiden name and for a short while was married to a Rogers but I don't know his first name for sure. She lived in Arkansas most her life and was born in 1911. She had my grandfather, Joel Lawson Rogers, in 1929 and the census says she was married as a Rogers abt. 1928ish. Any info would be helpful.

Joseph Treat

Does anyone have information on a Joseph Treat from Maine? He was in the Corinth area around 1847, I think. He was named guardian of Menander Mooers when his father died in 1847. Am trying to trace Menander's path. Thanks for any help you can give!

Trina
