Any idea where your Treichel ancestors came from and when did they emigrate?
It is important to know some more information such as date of birth, date of death, etc. Otherwise there will be noch chance to find out more since Treichel is and was not a rare surname in Germany.
Among other regions or provinces there was a concentration of this name in West Prussia, Germany, now Poland, in Pommerania, Germany, now Poland and in the so-called "Dobriner Land", counties of Rypin (Rippin) and Lipno (Leipe), in Poland, before WWI Russian Poland.
There are some variations of the name, but all of them identical with Treichel:
Treuchel, Treichler, Treichell, Treychel, Traichel, Trechel, Trejchel, Trychel, Trychelt, Trzychel.

Regards from Germany,
Willi with Treichel ancestors from West Prussia

Herman Treichel was born and lived in Eastern Poland and conscripted into the German Army during WW2 and declared missing in action on the Russian front in 1944; so therefore it is highly unlikely he returned to live in Germany.
I have no knowledge of either of Max or Maria Treichel of Hamburg.

Ludwig Treichel, son of Johann Friedrich Treichel and Maria Klamm, is my ancestor. So I am interested in the information on Ludwig Treichel.
Don't know if this will help, but my mother was a Stindt and had brothers named Henry, (uncle Hen) and Jerry. A sister in the family too, named Alice who married a Langville. They all lived in or near Glen Burnie, Md. The family was very unusual. I just got from Md. today after meeting my half brother. We found each other on this site. Our father was a Burkhardt. If these names sound familar, you may be another missing relative. Good Luck!

I found the following obituaries. This appears to be Julianne Treichel that you are looking for. Also below is the obit for Julianne's brother, John Radke and his wife Wanda. I'm wondering if you know who Julianne's and John's parents were. I have a Treichels married into my Stettin family. The Stettin's were related to the Radkes. But, I haven't tied this Julianne to the Treichel that married the Stettin.

Guten Tag, Tom!

Alexander Treichel writes in his book "Geschichte des Deutschtums von Rippin und Umgegend", 3rd ed., Schwabach, published by Milizer, 1962, page 57 (translated):

A second example: Christian Treychel [sic!] was a teacher in Rentwiny in 1818 and later on in Kleszczyn. His son Paul Treychel was a teacher in Radzynek and afterwards in Somsiory. He died in Rumunki-Radzynek on Jan. 13, 1868 at the age of 68 years. His son Andreas Treichel was a teacher in Przyrowa and later on in Kleszczyn [The one who was an imcompetent teacher.]. He died in Kleszczyn on March 10, 1888 at the age of 64 years. His son Gottfried Treichel who became a teacher as well died in Gaj on Aug. 17, 1889 very young at the age of only 31 years.

There were some more Treichels:
1. Emil Treichel, finished teacher' training college of Warsaw in 1908, was a teacher in Pozdzenice, Zelów and Brzeziny where he died as a treasurer [of what?] on Sep. 15,1925.
2. Johann Gottlieb Treichel, Alexander Treichel's [the one who wrote this book]greatgrandfather, who was evicted in the 1840s from Nieder-Altrippin by the estate owner of Rusinowo. He was married to a womann née Schwanke.
3. Peter Treichel, son of 2., had to do his duty in the Russian army for 25 years which was the normal period in those days, but did not return. Nobody ever learned what had happened to him.

Would be great to get more information on your Treichel ancestors in order to add them to Alexander Treichel's book.
Any other surnames related to your ancestors? Maybe I can find some information in the book.

Greetings from Köln,
Willi
Danke for your response. Do you have any information on birthdates and birthplaces?

By the way, Reiwe seems to be Riewe, a slightly more common surname I found in Weißenhöhe [Weissenhoehe = Bialosliwe], Kreis Wirsitz,in the province of Posen, Prussia, and in West Prussia.

My ancestor Euphrosine [Rosina, Rosa, Rosalia] Lemke [Lempke, Lembke] was married to Andreas Mack [Mach, Macht] before 1795. They lived in Sluchay, Skemsk and Frankenstein near Gollub, Kreis Briesen, West Prussia, close to Kreis Rippin [Polish Rypin].

Maybe we can help each other in our research.

Greetings from Cologne [Köln],

Willi

Guten Tag from Germany,

I am a Treichel descendant, too, but from ancestors who lived in Kreis Briesen, West Prussia, close to the German-Polish (Russian Poland) border.

I have a book written by Alexander Treichel, "Geschichte des Deutschtums von Rippin und Umgegend", 3rd ed. published 1962 in Schwabach by Milizer.

He mentions various Treichels:

Treichel
- Alexander
- Andreas
- Emil
- Gottfried
- Johann Gottlieb
- [Treychel] Christian
- [Treychel] Paul,

among them some teachers, e.g. Andreas who was a lazy teacher in Kleszczyn near Rypin without any knowledge of the Russian language which was mandatory at the time when this area was under Russian administration.

If interested in further information I can have a look-up.

Best regards,

Willi
whose grandfather Max* Alfred Treichel was born Feb 11, 1903 in Gruneberg, Kreis Briesen, just a stone's throw from Gollub

Well, I got that list from the Zentralstelle für Personen- und Familiengeschichte e.V. in Frankfurt/Main when I asked for information on the Treichel surname and for Ferdinand Traichel's "Geschlechterfolgen Treichel I and II".
My Treichel ancestors are from Kreis (county) Briesen in West Prussia and moved to the province of Brandenburg when the Poles took over that part of West Prussia in 1920 according to the Treaty of Versailles.
So there is no connection to the Pomeranian Treichels as far as I know.
Do you know Ulrike Nilgen née Treichel with ancestors from Kreis Kolberg-Körlin or Ralf Treichel whose ancestors are also from East Pomerania? There are some Treichel coat of arms: 1. Johann Christoph Treichel of Lauenburg, Pomerania, 1776; 2. Johann Treichl (sic!) of Hopfgarten, District of Kitzbühl in Tyrol, Austria, early 18th century; 3. Heinrich von Treichel of Marrin, Kreis Kolberg, 18th century
Greetings,
Willi

Willi,

Based on your recommendation, I searched for specific ancestral names, but found nothing with the correct birth dates -- or even close.

Considering that I am unable to resolve ancestral puzzles of the late 1800s in Wisconsin, it is no surprise that I am unable to resolve those of early 1800s (and before) in East Prussia.

Thanks for the URL.

Lloyd

Romer family is known to have come from Germany but could have been anywhere in the area.
If you have any info on the Romer family who migrated to Miami, Florida and any of their extended family all over the world please let me know. My husband and only one sister is still alive and very few family members.
Thank you and God bless you in your family search.
Delia
Do you have any information on the Treichel's from the Leverkusen, North Rhein region! They are also related to the Schinke's, Schultz's, Eul's, Zabelberg's, Schmitz's and the Radke's. They originally came from the Zhitomir region in Volhynia.

I have not done much research as of late, seeing if there is anything new. Peter is my 3rd cousin and Andreas Treichel 1824-1888 is where our lines meet.

My Treichel line consists of:

Henry Christian Trieckel 1893-1956
Christian Treichel 1869-1941
Andreas Treichel 1824-1888
Paul Treichel 1799-1868
Christian Treichel bef 1799

In my ancestry I have a Louise Romer born 16 May 1864, died 12 May 1947. She married August Treichel on 29 Sep 1885 in Belgard. I don't know anything further about her but I do have info on his ancestors and his descendants.

Gail

My mother hired Mr Muller back in the 1980's so this report seems similar to information he sent her. Are you related to Mr. Muller? Which of the Treichels are you related to? Why do you have the report?
