Hi- Be sure to read the email before the one you last wrote. However, My Chestina was the daughter of Jared. Jared was the youngest brother of Abner who began the settlement of Trumansburg,NY(not Abner's son Abner). My Jared was just barely too young to fight in the Revolution and is listed in Hillsboro,Ny, abt 1800 Census. Before 1806 he is in Trumansburg on Lot#8 with his family and he died about 1812. You mention older brother Abner who did have a son(?)(grandson?) Jared-Yes- but not mine. My Jared was the younest brother of the elder Abner. He married Elizabeth and, among others, he had a daughter Chestina who married (1)James Carley 1813, and (2)Soloman Smith abt 1820. James, who died in 1817, and Chestina lived in Jacksonville near Trumansburg. Also see Census of 1850 showing this family. For good and correct Treman info see the site and/or books of Gilbert Tremaine Smith(Google him). Be carefull in using the Tremaine Genealogy by Ayres and Pool(two Vols). Much is left out. My Chestina and other siblings are not in this book. The were identified by reading Jared's Will which listed them. Bob (my Updykes also married Treman)

My grt-grt-grt-grt grandfather was Jared Treman born around 1800. His father and brother were both named Abnor Treman. Jared's wife was Anna Marie Louise Le Pine, and their daughter Adrianna Leonora Treman is my grt-grt-grt grandmother. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about "Chestina".

- Adrianna J.

Of course the Poole book is good on all Tremans or Tremaines, However, it the case of Jared Treman, the youngest son who was too young to fight in the REV. as his older brothers Abner and Daniel, etc, the Poole book leaves out several children who are verified by Gilbert Treman Smith of Cannondiagua, NY in a document of the early 1990s. You can find him on the Usgenweb in NY. I have his basic findings,I think, but would have to look them up- tell me by email your wishes and I will find it. My Chestina was verified by Mr. Smith (Gilbert) because he found her name on Jared's will. She is further verified by our own family tradition. Bob Also Chestina Married James Carley in 1813 then (2) Soloman Smith about 1820. Bob
