I am looking for information on Jean Trembley, b. abt. 1660 in Geneva, Switzerland; d. bef. December 23, 1754 in Rahways Neck, NJ. He was a Huguenot who spent time in England before coming to North America. He married Mary Noe in 1689 in New York. I have seen 1655, 1662, and 1670 as possible birth dates for Mary Noe. There are eight children attributed to this marriage:
i. Hannah Trembley, b. June 7, 1679
ii. Margrate Trembley, b. abt. 1690 (?)
iii. Peter Trembley, b. abt. 1690
iv. Mary Trembley, b. abt. 1692
v. John Trembley, b. 1691
vi. Anne Trembley, b. abt. 1694
vii. Elizabeth Trembley, b. abt. 1712
viii. Sarah Trembley, b. abt. 1715
The only wife I have seen attributed to Jean Trembley is Mary Noe. The birth years do not seem to match this, however. Hannah Trembley was born 10 years prior to the marriage between Jean and Mary. Although Hannah is usually said to be born in New Jersey, I have seen England as a birthplace. This would indicate an earlier marriage. I also wonder if anyone has any information on another wife named Mary that may be the mother of Elizabeth and Sarah. Given Mary Noe's age and the space between the births of Anne and Elizabeth, this seems likely. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated!
