I have a Hortaire Treme b. abt 7/1847 with a daughter that is named Regina in the census, b. abt 4/1886. Does this sound like the same family? If so, I will gladly share info.

Yes, they were brother and sister..My Great Grandfather Jacob Frederick Hufft,was the first postmaster for Slidell Louisiana. His son Edward Bernard was my Grandfather. I have information. please feel free to contact me.

Claude Treme plantations were located at the present day area around Rampart St. going east norteast towards Lake Ponchatrain..His son Benoit had a plantation in St.Bernard.

I believe your Edward B Hufft of Slidell Louisiana might be the brother of my great grandmother Emma Hufft Koenig. Her family did live in Slidell. Her father's name was Frederick Hufft and she was born in St Charles, MO.
I would love more info on the Hufft family if this sounds like the same family. They must at least be cousins!!

I became interested when reading your e-mail regarding the Treme family. There might be a chance there is some relationship to my family. My mother's grandmother's name was Eleanora Treme, and she resided in New Orleans. I have very limited information regarding her life, but I do know she had a daughter named Josephine. Josephine was my mother's mom. There were also (approx. 3 brothers & one other sister named Alice.

My gfather, Louis Peter Treme b. 1891 in Port-ala-Hache, Plaquemines Parish, LA

His father: Hortaire Treme b. July 1847 in LA
His mother: Eleanora Ganier b. March 1860 in LA died in New Orleans (I think).

Looking for ancestors and siblings of Hortaire and Eleanora.

Any info would be appreciate.

Eleanora's sons included: Louis Peter - my grandfather, Joseph, Frank, etc. Daughters included: Eveline, Mary Regina, Louise, etc.

my name is kelvin bartholomew. Ganier is a surname in my family also. I was born in plaquemines parish and lived in davant. pointe-a-la-hache is the next town over.
