Hello,
My father was a Trentham He lived in what is now Elkmont My grandfather was a logger before the park service took over.

Their names were Coy Trentham (Grandfather)and Ray Trentham (Father) If you have any info I would love to see what you have. I have just started my research.

My great grandfather's name was James Monroe Trentham. I'm not sure of his dob but 1889 would be close. His children were Robert James, Dorothy, Louise an B.C. Trentham. My great grandmother was Mattie Jackson and they were married in Jacksboro Texas. Robert was my grandfather and he died in 1953. My mother is Thelma Gwendolyn Trentham White.

Cagey was born 17 Jul 1849 in Sevier Co, TN. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Hatcher 0n 29 Apr 1866 in Sevier Co. They had 8 children and your grand father Elijah M. was 6th born on 28 Jul 1873. He married Sarah Rebecca Drinnon and they had 9 children. Cagey's parents were William Thomas Trentham & Easter Ogle. Your grandfather was named after Betty's father Elijah Hatcher who married Jane Huskey.

Hello! Is there anyone out there that knows of a Mrs. Martha Trenton/Trentham who was living in McCracken County, Ky. in 1880 Census record with her children, Lenora, James, Brown, and Charles. I would like to know what Martha's maiden name was. They later moved to Green County, Arkansas and was there in the 1900 Census and down. There is no 1890 Census, so it is hard to find them during that 10 year span. Any info. would be helpful. All I have on this family is the following. William Trentham B/ 1821 N. C. m. Malinda b. 1821 Ga.
Children: Mary L. b. 1844, Sara Isabelle b. 1845 (this is my husbands grandmother- who died long before he was born)
Margaret I 1847, Martha b. 1849, Martin J. 1852, Colby C., b. 1855, John L. b. 1858. They lived in Arkansas in the 1860's and 1870's....from there I have not been able to find any of them except Sara Isabelle who married #2 husband and moved to Texas.

I am looking for information on, and ancestors of, James M. Trentham, born 13 Dec 1855 in Tennessee, died 10 Dec 1891 in Cumby, Texas, married to Allie Jackson P. Jones, born 8 May 1861 in Wise County, Texas, died 9 Sep 1841 in Chico, Texas.

We have no info on James's parents or brothers and sisters.

Allie's parents are Gabriel P. Jones, born about 1831 in Georgia or Mississippi, died after 1910, married between 1860-61 to Loduskey Anna F. Cumby, born Nov 1844 in Tennessee, died between 1900-09 in Texas.

I have some similar names in my family also from around Sevier, TN and SC. Easter Malinda Trentham married to Thomas Ogle and a Susannah bohannon married to an Isaac Ogle also a Nancy Bohannon married to a William Ogle, nanvy's father was a Henry Bohannon. Does any of this sounds like it ties in? I found this info on familysearch.org

Hi There:Am descendent of William Robert Trentham,Lucinda Bugg,etc.have some info,still trying to find more on Martin Trentham,Sr.and/or Martin Trentham, Jr.back in North Carolina in 1700's,but am stuck now.Contact me if I can be of any help been working on this for past nine years.Can't find anything on Lucinda Bugg,even checking in Rowan Co.North Carolina for something where she supposedly married William Robert Trentham in 1792.Thanks.

Hi Lisa: I have been researching the Trentham family for past nine years and Easter Bohannon Trentham is my 4th Great Grandmother,Levi Trentham was my 2nd Gr Grandfather,am still dilligently searching for the Bugg ancestor,have some information,not much on her,back to 1780 and am stumped there!Have been to cemetery where Easter is buried,have photos also.Let me know if I can be of any assistance,will share what I have up to this time with you if you need it.I live in North Carolina so try to visit local libraries,etc.to find more about these Trenthams who lived in this State,having very hard time finding Martin Trentham,Sr. and Martin Trentham,Jr.have lots of books with info on Trenthams but not on Martin Sr. and Martin Jr. Contact me if you need any help I could supply.Sincerely,Connie

I am from the William "Cagey" Trentham family line as well, and I have traced the family line down through James Wilson Trentham and his descendents. Hi, i'm trying to research my family history..My family name is Voyles..When i was a little girl, i can remember a man named Ed or Edward Trentham coming to our house at least once a year to collect info. on the Voyles family.I think he was from the Smoky Mountain or N.C area..He was a cousin of mine..If i could find him i know he must have alot on all my family history..I saw you were a Trentham from that area, and i was just wondering if you knew of a Edward Trentham?I think he would be around 40 years old by now or maybe a little older..I grew up in Cleveland,Tennessee, and thats where he would come to visit our famliy..Any info. would be greatly appreciated................Thanks,Andrea (Voyles) Kuczynski

William Thomas Trentham b. 1793 d. 1848 who married Easter Ogle Bohanon b, 1805 d, 1883
Caleb Eli Trentham b. 1844 d. 1937 who married Mary Martin b. 1843 d. 1937.

I am trying to locate where these families originated in NC or SC. They do appear in Gatlinburg, Sevier County TN.

James Trentham isBuried in the Cumby cementery North of Chico,Wise county,Texas. Gabriel P. Jones died 14 June 1918,buried in the Veterans Cementry, Austin,Texas,Sect.3,Row G, N. 12. Trenthan in Mississippi

I have found a cemetary record containing a Trenthan that is grandmother to Mary White. There are no first name and no dates on the Trenthen marker, it just says that she is the grandmother to Mary. She is buried in the Stewart Cemetary in Lincoln County, Mississippi. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

My G G Grandmother was also Mary B Trentham. She married Charles H. Dunton and they had at least 5 children. I am a relative of one of them, Henrietta C. Dunton who married Edward Augustus Wiggin. They had Charles Edward Wiggin who married May Elliott. They had my mother, Evelyn May Wiggin. Mary's grandfather was George Trentham and her grandmother's maiden name was Jackson but I don't know her first name.Catherine Withee's ancestors can be seen at Withey Family Geneology Index.Apparently they go way back to Scotland Re: James MacWithey S.C.

To date we have not been able to make the connection between England and the US. Hoewever what I can tell you is that the name originates from Trentham in Staffordshire and other spellings that we have come accross are Trantham and Trenthem. Maybe you should try looking for some of these names which I beleive there are many of in the USA.

I am trying to trace a David? Mckinley/Mackinlay/Mackinlay/Mackinlay (David might have been his middle name) who attended a course around December 1970 in Trentham. Does anyone know the name of buildings that were around then? It may have been a Training Officers Course? and he would have been or anyone that attended the course would have been around 20-40 back then.
