I remember that a book was written about Harry, I do not offhand remember the title or author. That wikipedia article mentions a reference entitled "The history of Haas College Center". Peter's daughter Maria Christina Trexler married my ancestor Peter Haas. I wonder if the Haas after whom the college center is named is a distant relative.

Yes,
....This Peter Trexler is cited here in Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Clay_Trexler

Harry C. Trexler was the brother of Frank M. Trexler,
my great-grandfather. Once a year our family has a
reunion in the Allentown area of the living descendants
of Frank....one of whom is actually named Pete Trexler,
a former Geology Professor at Juniata College.

Regards,
Doug

Interesting that you post this. My Trexler ancestry runs
through the Lehigh Valley area, and my great aunt has written
a history book of the Trexlers of the Lehigh Valley. Your
data point is of interest to me because Peter Trexler (son) is
my ancestor.

Nancy,
Thank you for responding and offering more info. Above in this line I talked about Christina being the grandaughter of J Peter Trexler, and that Jeremiah is not the son from whom I descend. I did however, update whatever of Jeremiah's info I didn't have. I descend from his son Peter, born after arrival in America. It great to know a good contact and I will definitely keep you in mind. My thanks to your husband and brother-in-law retoring and upkeeping the cemetery at Breinigsville. Who besides J Peter and Catherine Breinig are buried there from this line? Thank you very much!
Holly

Holly,
Are you still searching for information on the Trexler family? If so, maybe I can help you. I have quite alot of information collected over the past 20 years.
There is one small error in your information about Christina Trexler. Here is how the line goes:
John Peter Trexler and Catharine Breinig had Jeremiah. Jeremiah and Maria Catherine Schumacher had John Peter. John Peter and Maria Catherine Albright had Christina. Christina married John Heinrich Hidy.
My husband and another relative take care of the Trexler Family Cemetery in Breinigsville, PA. It was in very poor condition about 10 years ago. Alot of neglect. But now it is in very good condition. John Peter and Catharine Breinig Trexler are buried there along with alot of other Trexlers.
Let me know exactly what you are looking for and I will gladly send it to you if I have it.
Nancy Trexler

I am just recently actively tracing my family tree on my mom's side ( she is a Trexler ). My family members I'm beginning with reside in Kansas and I've gotten as far back as my Great-Great Grandfather Phillip Trexler who was married to Eliza J. If this Phillip is in your family tree, please contact me. I would love to go back even further but not sure how everyone fits in on our tree. ( I have alot of names but not sure where they belong )

Hi! I do have a record of Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500's-1900's for John Peter Trexler-1710 New York. I guess you'd have to get that yourself in order to attach it.
Found a website: http://www.geocities.com/erinlovesbaseball/trexler.html
Pretty interesting. From a book found in a yard sale!!!
For citations/sources I try Millenium Files, clicking on the "Search Historical Records found under the list of family members- sometimes works, sometimes not.
If I find any more of the citations in the tree, I'll let you know.
Thanks for the DAR info. Does it matter if I sumit several or one?

Holly

Thank you Richard,
I've checked all I have and added info where needed. Thanks. From other trees, I've picked up that Johann George Breunich did have two brothers, (at least).
The one I am decended from is Sebastian-b.1639 in Miltenberg, Bayern and the other is Johann Adam Breunich-b.
5 FEB 1651, Amorbach, Miltenberg, Bayern. Johann George fits in the middle at b. 1642!
Thanks for the link- I'll check it out!
Holly

I am looking for ancestors or other descendants of Charles W. Trexler (1835-1919)and his wife Amelia Beidelman (1833-1895). Their children were William, Mary, Elemina, Charles D., Emma, Willis and Frank. I am a descendant of Charles D. (1861-1947) and his wife Mary Ann Cleaver (1861-1930), through their daughter Ida Augusta (1886-1953). I would like to know if anyone else is researching this particular Trexler family.

Re: Want ancestry of Catharina BREINIG born 1682 - 1688 who married Johann Peter TREXLER

Hi!
I think I've got this figured out. Your Christina Ann Trexler's father was Jeremiah Trexler(married Maria Schumacher,b.1708), son of Johan Peter Trexler who married Catharina Breinig(1685-1758). So Christina Ann IS Our Peter's grandaughter. Johann Peter and Catharina Breinig are our common ancestors. My line does not come down through Jeremiah, as yours does. Mine comes down from J Peter's son, Peter.
Back to Catharine Breinig! I have her father as Sebastian Bruenig(b.1639 in Buechen, Mittenberg, Bayern, Germany and died in the same place on 11 AUG 1689) and her mother as Agnes? b.1640 d.1700- same place as Sebastian.
Sebastian's Father-Johann Valentin Bruenich(b.5 FEB 1610, in Amorbach, Mitenberg, Bayern, Germany, died 5 FEB 1672- no places named. His mother- Walburga Haringer-1613-25 NOV 1669- no places given.
Johann Valentin's father-Mathias Bruenich(1590-1633), mother-Anna b.1593-no other info given.
That's it. All I have. I get suspicious when names change (such as Breinig to Bruenig--could be right). Needs further checking.
Hope this helps. It does show that your Christina was a granddaughter of Johann Peter, not a daughter, but hopefully that's helpful.
What do you need to do to be a member of DAR? Is it hard? What does it involve? I could qualify on many sources. Let me know,ok? Thanks,
Holly

Many thanks for your reply regarding the above. Yes, I do believe we're distant cousins. How nice it is to find another relative. It's good to know you. Thanks for inquiring about our families.

I believe what you wrote in your email is fairly clear. However, I do not have info to prove anything - - - like sources, etc. Do you have anything else about the above names? Do you know if there are others researching these names? Might you know anything about the Trexlers being involved in the Rev. War? He built forts against the Indians.
So, I'll just thank you for sharing names, dates, and places with me, and move on to the DAR questions you asked.

It's really exciting that you think you may have several connections to Rev. War patriots. I'm trying to find more, too. Anyway, in a nut shell, here's what you need to do to join the DAR.

1) Prove that your ancestor fought in the Rev War during the dates of April 19, 1775 through November 26, 1783. What did he do? Was he an officer? Know and prove birth dates, names & birth of spouses and children if there are any. Contact DAR in Washington to get forms and ask questions regarding the completion of these DAR papers/forms. Maybe an LDS Family History Center in your local area could help in obtaining necessary information. Fill out the forms & papers, and mail them to DAR here in Washington. They'll do the rest.

I was able to piggy-back on my mother's and grandmother's DAR papers, so I didn't need to do all that research. I know a Holly in Southern California/Hollywood area. Are you that person? She, too, is a distant cousin on the Hidy/Trexler line of our family. What is your email address, and where do you live? Dorothy Wilkins, Rockville, Maryland.

wcwilkins1@aol.com
Holly, Thanks for your email. My Trexler connection is a 6th generation, like yours. This is what I know: one of the children or grandchild of Johann Peter Trexler and wife Catharina Breinig was Christina Ann Trexler. She married Johann Henrich Heydee in Pennsylvania. Christina and Johann Henrich had 10 children and I'm descended from their second son, Joseph Hidy, who was baptised in Ardmore, PA along with his older brother Jacob. Johann Henrich Heydee fought in the Rev. War, so I'm in the DAR under his name. Sorry that I don't have dates to share with you or any documentation confirming birth, baptisms, marriage, death.
What do you have, and where are you in the research process in the Breinig & Trexler names?
Are all Trexlers related?

My Trexler ancestors go back to Conrad Dreschler b: MAY 1624 in Germany, as shown at the following link and those derived from it:

http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&...

Is he the common ancestor of all Trexlers in this country? Then can we say that all Trexlers are related?
Want ancestry of Catharina BREINIG born 1682 - 1688 who married Johann Peter TREXLER

I am interested in the ancestry and family of Catharina BREINIG as follows:
Birth: EST 1682 - 1688 in Germany
Death: EST 1743 - 1760
About 1707 she married Johann Peter TREXLER b: 26 FEB 1679/1680
She is buried in the Trexler Family Cemetery, Breinigsville, Lehigh County, PA, located between Rt. 22 (or is it Rt. 222) and Trexler Road.

Given her name I imagine she must be related to the person after whom Breinigsville is named.

Wikipedia states the following:
"Breinigsville, Pennsylvania, USA is located in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, several miles west of Allentown in Upper Macungie Township. The population of Breinigsville is 3,556. The town of Breinigsville is located on Route 222 between Trexlertown and Maxatawny. The Route 222 bypass is being built in Breingsville."
