I HAVE SEEN ON THE INTERNET ON TERISHA TURNER'S FAMILY TREE A DAVID TRYALL (TRIALL) THAT WAS MARRIED TO MARY TURNER. I THINK THAT WOULD BE ANOTHER BRANCH OF THE FAMILY TREE. I ALSO FOUND THE OBITUARY FOR CASSANDRA TRIAL. I AM STILL SEARCHING, IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SHARE I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION. IT'S LIKE A TREASURE HUNT! KATHY

Hi Susan, I'm doing a search on my family name since 2006. I found a lot of information and I'm sure I could help you. I have been able to trace 3 Trial Families (email) and tried to contact you by postmail last summer, but I got no answer. The address was probably wrong...

You said that Alfred was your grandfather, well his father was Alfred too! He was married to Exilia Bourque in Plessisville, Québec. Alfred's father was David Trial married to Angèle Boisvert in St-François-du-Lac, Québec.

If you want to know more and if you could give me some lines, please contact me!

Michael
Hi Michael,

I don't have much to report on my end. I do have cousins that have or are working on compiling their family's information and I will get that added to my bit of information as soon as I get it.

My mom, Shirley, is coming to visit at the end of September and she is going to bring the above mentioned information with her as well as the information and photos that you sent her. I'm really looking forward to seeing all that you sent to her. She is planning on sending the above mentioned information to you as well as some photos of our family, including one of my mom, dad and all of my brothers and sisters.

Anyway, I haven't really had much time to do much research, I have a 2 year old son that keeps me very busy when I'm not at work, so it's hard to find time for this right now. I would really like to get more information on the family before they came to the US.

Well, I need to run. Take care!

Kristy

Since the last time, I did not receive a message from you. How do you do !!!

I wanted to let you know that I found new information about our family. On vacation, I`m gone to Princeville and I discovered that many people was born in this place (13). I will send you the list by mail with the compilation I made. I will try to take time this or next week. I have about 40 pages of info and before I send it to you, I would like to make corrections.

I send a letter to Shirley last week. Probably you already got it. I sent some pictures of my family`s side with some information like Shirley did. Maybe we have family likeness!!!

I would like to know if someone knows who was Raymond E. Trial, son of Frederick and Beatrice Gallant. He was born in Madison on February 9th, 1916. His 1st wife was Nancy. Did Raymond E. have brothers n sisters? Let me know ...

Hello everyone!

It's Michael again!

This weekend, my grandmother show me a picture of Édouard, my great grandfather, when he was working probably at La Tuque. I think this picture has been taken in about 1910.

I have many pictures on my family side. Almost everyone knows that I'm looking for pictures or any old documents. I'm making an album that maybe you will can see one fine day. I hope!

I have 3 canadian census too, I found it on the net: 1881, 1901 & 1911.

Since a moment, I'm looking for infos of Presbytery's area. Most of my infos came from these places. They are reliable.

I can tell you that Louis Triane, father of my Louis & your David, was a cobbler. He died in 1840 at the age of about 50 years. However, I don't know if he learned his job in Canada or in Italy.

Because believe it or not, we are Italians immigrants!!!!!
That's we always heard about in my family, and it was verified in 1881 canadian census!!!!!

If you want write to me, it's 1:50 pm, and I will be here until 4 pm. I have my "gold book" with me and my English/French dictionnary too!!!!!

I hope to hear from you! Otherwise it will be next sunday because I have obligations and you too, I'm sure!

Take care and À bientôt!!! Michael
Unfortunately I am at work now and all of my information is at home. Like I said, I have 20 pages worth of ancestry spanning 8 generations. I noticed that some of the information that I have and what you have differ, especially when it comes to you and your siblings. So, what I'll do is send you the information that I have and you can send me updates or corrections and we can go from there. Also, my aunt gave me a list of good sites to use, which I will include, I admit that I haven't used a lot of them, some of them are pay sites and some are free. I like to stick to the free ones myself. :)

Also, I am in Washington state, so I am in the pacific time zone, it is currently 10:30 AM, so, we're in different time zones.

I gathered a lot of my information last year and just got hooked up with a lady that gave me most of the information that I have. I still have her contact information (email address) so I will send that to you as well. Speaking of email addresses, do you have one, what is it? Mine is kristy_cloutier@hotmail.com.

I haven't had much time to devote to this lately, I have a son that is 2 years old and I don't have much free time to sit on a computer and do a lot of research. This has gotten me back into it and I am planning on spending some more time to see what else I can find. However, in the meantime, I will send you the information that I currently have. I hope to have the information in the mail by no later than Monday.

I hope you find the information that I am sending helpful! :)

I just got the information that you sent to her and I am working on compiling the information I plan on sending you. I have 20 pages of ancestry on the Trial family. I am updating it and changing some things with the information that you provided. I noticed that you finally got some posts from others as well. Maybe we could all share addresses (email or snail mail) and send the list to one another so that each person can change, add, delete, whatever, to the list I have.

I will get the information together as soon as I can and get it in the mail to you. Also, can you please send me your address again as it is kind of hard to read on the envelope.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Kristy (Trial) Cloutier

  Hi again Roxanne,
These computers are wonderful things. I am feeling GREAT, especially, when I realize that five weeks ago, I actually died and was shocked back to life!! Life takes on an entirely different meaning, after that happens. It leads you to believe that you're here for a reason----I sometimes ramble a bit, when I go there!!
Sharon will get back to you, we sort of keep her busy on the web site. I'll jog her memory a bit.
I think it is so great that we as relatives, find each other on the computer. Thanks for the run down on the families. We will keep in touch, no telling how many other relatives we can find. Paul Colfer

I did go up North this past summer, however,I was not feeling the greatest. I didn't do any research at all while up in Maine.
I came home to have a major operation, then had a blood clot, had angio- plasti, and am almost completely recovered.
We are now planning a trip back up to Prince Edward Island in the spring. If that happens,we will be somewhere around the Waterville area. Maybe I can swing into the Catholic cemetary and check some stones. My wife will be elated, as she thinks ancestry is morbid. Her opinion is, "who cares, they're dead"!
Sharon is my baby sister. We are out of a family of 12, two deceased, and we are spread all over the U.S. We are almost all involved in a My Family web site, Sharon is the head honcho!
Paul Colfer

Hi Roxanne,
I have not been able to find out much about the Trial line as of yet. I recently found out that my Grandfather Trial was born in what they called New Brunswick, Maine. As far as I know, There is no N.B., Maine, however, he was born 1/6/1876, and at that time, I believe Maine and New Brunswick, Canada were fighting over who owned what. He may have been born on either side, who knows!!
I now live in Apopka, Florida, my kids live in upstate New York and New Hampshire. My Wife and I are heading up there in a month or so. We plan on going to Prince Edward Island for a visit, my Dad was born up there. We have several relatives in Maine, I will try to get up to Waterville and check the cemetary for more Boisverts,Greenwoods, and Descouteaux. There were lots of Descouteaus withouit the"x" up north.I'll check on that name also.
The change from Boisvert to Greenwood is also very interesting, do you have any of the reasoning for that or was there any handed down?
This ancestry stuff does really get into us and won't let go. I just wish that I had got started before I got into my 60's. Lots of info was lost before I got started.
Enough rambling for now. Stay in touch, Paul Colfer

While hunting for info on my Grandfather, Alfred Joseph Trial, Son of Jean Baptiste Trial and Marie Boisvert,in the Waterville Maine Catholic Cemetary, I came across several Boisvert stones. I found the people in the Cemetary Office very helpful, and cordial. This may be a wild goose chase, but I have found lots of info in cemetarys. Good Luck, Paul Colfer

Looking to connect with any Trials in the United States. A lot of the history of the Trials on my father's side of the family passed on with my Aunt. I know that my grandfather had 10 brothers and sisters, they moved to Winslow, Maine when they moved to the U.S. My family has never been in contact with any of his brothers and sisters.

His name was Peter S. Trial born around 1892, and his wife was Marie (Gagne) Trial born around 1900.

Like I said, I know nothing of his siblings, but would like to.

My grandparents, Peter and Marie, had 3 children: Jeanette (Trial) Cote, Peter Eugene Trial and Armand Trial. The only one still living is my father, Peter Eugene Trial.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Kristy (Trial) Cloutier

Hello,

I'm looking for information on the Trial family of Virginia. Specifically, on John Garvin Trial who was born 20 November 1792 in Virginia, married Elizabeth Bowman on 28 December 1812 in Albemarle, Virginia and died 20 March 1850 in Peoria County, Illinois. I know that his father was David Trial and his mother was Mary Turner, but that's all the information I have about his parents and no information on his siblings. I would appreciate any information you could share with me on my Great-Great-Great Grandfather. Thank you! Lorie Trial Mosteller

The line is:

Sharon A Colfer/Clifford M Hiett Jr.
Kathryn L Trial/James P Colfer.
Alfred Joseph Trial/Amanda Lovendale.
Jean Baptiste Trial/Marie Boisvert.

Jean Baptiste and Marie had these children as well:
Amanda Trial born Aug 31 1875 married John Baptiste Belanger.
Emily Trial born 1879 married Henry S Cyr.
Annie M Trial born 1882 married Arthur LeGendre.
Henry Napoleon Trial born 1883.
John Baptiste Trial born June 20 1891.

I have very little information on any of these people besides my grandfather Alfred Joseph Trial.
Hi Paul,

I don't know if you remember me e-mailing you on ancestry.com
back in April. But I notice a listing by a cousin of yours Sharon. She mentioned that your family descends from Louis Boisvert and Isabelle (Elisabeth) LaFond married May 7, 1821. Louis and Isabelles daughter Angele married Doria (David) Trial.. David (Doria) and Angele were the parents of Jean Baptiste Trial who was married to Marie Boisvert.

I looked to see what lineage Marie descends from I do know her parents were Isaie Boisvert and Marie Pratt. But I don't know how they were related to Louis Boisverts.

It looks like from what I can see is that Sharon is my fathers 3rd cousin.

Jean Baptiste Trail married to Marie Boisvert was a first cousin to my great grandfather Lawrence Greenwood.

I have e-mailed Sharon to see if she has other information that could be helpful as you know I was searching for Louis and Isabelle's graves in Quebec and couldn't find them. I wonder if they are buried in Maine with the Trail family?

Roxanne

Hi Paul,

I know what you mean I have been tracing my family for about 25 yrs on and off. It becomes very intense and like you say it gets in your blood.

There were a few variations for the name Descouteaux but it is the same family. I have a 6 th great grandmother that was a Descouteau.

Boisvert means wood green in French. And when they came to the United States English speaking people couldn't pronouce it. (It is pronouced Bawvair). My father told me this information as his father had told him. But recently I was informed that the Boisvert's used the name Greenwood as a legal name even in Quebec. It helped to protect them from the British is what I understand. Why the Boisvert's were more concered with that then other French Canadians I am not sure of. May be they just felt they wern't changing much by doing that.

We found that our Boisvert/Greenwood family was using both names even when they were in the U.S. They would use Boisvert for Church documents only. It's very interesting, some of my great grandfathers brother's used Boisvert for baptising there children, even though their legal name was Greenwood.

Let me know if you find any information in the cemetary, I am very interested.

Thanks
Roxanne

Hi Paul,

I am sorry that you wern't feeling well, it sounds though that you are doing much better I am glad to hear that.

I did contact Sharon but I haven't heard back from her yet. We too have a large Greenwood/Boisvert site where people contribute information.

It looks like we are 4th cousins, I looked again at Sharon's information again and this is what I found.

My great grandfather Lawrence Greenwood was John Baptiste Trail's first cousin.

My grandfather Lawrence Henry Greenwood was Alfred Joseph Trial's 2nd cousin.

My father Harlen LaMoine Greenwood was 3rd cousins to your mother Kathyrn Louise.

I then would be 4th cousin to you.

I found it interesting that the first born child of Angele Boisvert and David (Doria) Trial was named Isidore. As you know I have been searching for many years to find the parents of Louis Boisvert.(I have been in many graveyards in Quebec and I know my family didn't like me dragging them there, so I can understand how your wife feels).

But what I found today is very interesting, there was a Louis Isidore Boisvert born April 17 1821 at St. Antoine de La Baie Du Febvre Quebec (only about 10 miles from St, Francois du Lac where Angele was born). It would be the right date of birth for our Louis because he was married to Isabelle (Elisabeth) LaFond May 7,1821. It isn't certin of course but it was a very good clue to find a Isidore in your family.

My e-mail address is roxylou@yahoo.com, it would be great if our families could work together to find our great great great grandfather Louis Boisverts lineage.

Take care,
Roxanne

Hi Paul,

Do you know who your Marie's parents were. I do know that my great great grandfather Louis (Boisvert) Greenwood's sister Angele was married to Doria Trial. They were married at St. Francois du Lac Yamaska Quebec Aug 18 1848.

Doria's parents were Louis Trial and Genevieve Benoit.

They did have a sister Marie Boisvert howerever she did marry a Descouteaux and lived in the N.H. Maine area.

Can you tell me any of the names of the Boisvert's in that Cemetary? Or if there were any Greenwood's buried there?

I live in the Minneapolis area. Many of the French Canadian's came down to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Mine settled in the Two Rivers area of Wisconsin just down from Green Bay.

I would be very interested to know more about your Marie Boisvert. And the cemetary you mentioned. Most people with the name Boisvert would have changed it to Greenwood. My family name was changed in 1854 just after they arrived in Wiscosnin.

Thank you
Roxanne

I started my family tree at the beginning of this past summer.
I discovered many things about my family. We live in Québec since about 200 years. My ancestor is called Louis Trial, brother of David married to Angèle Boisvert. David moved to Arthabaska, Plessisville area. After, in 1870, he came to the USA. But Louis remained in Québec and we are his descendants. I have a lot of infos and I would like to exchange with others people

I really hope a answer from anyone.
Joesph trial is my greatgrandfather. Frank is my Great Uncle.
My research of the Trial name ends With Juames, Joseph's father. The only evidence of Juames is on Pierre Trial's
death ceterficate wher Juames is listed as his father.
Jim Trial
treeowl2@msn.com

My Great Uncle was Robert Henry Trial III. He was born 28 Sept 1899 and died in Terre Haute, Indiana on 13 December 1990. He was buried on 16 December 1990 at Monmouth Memorial Cemetery in Monmouth, Illinois. He was married first to Mary Ortery (Born 27 Aug 1894)and had 3 children; Robert Junior Trial, William Trial, and Mary Esther Trial. They were divorced and he married his second wife, Cora Compton Bryant Trial, whom I remember. She died 4 January 1985. Robert had 14 brothers and sisters and he was the second born. My Grandfather, Claud was the 9th child born. Robert's Mother, Florence had her first child, Joseph Harry in 1897 and her last child Mary Anna in 1924, a span of 27 years!
David Trial m. Octavia Boissonneault

Hi, I have just started to research my family tree. Unfortunately, I have little information. My fathers name was Normand Trial and he died in 1969. His fathers name was Alfred Trial and he died in 1973 and was born on 3/30/1891. The name Alfred and the date of birth I believe falls into place as being the son of David Trial and Octavie Boissonneau. From what I have read on the message board I think this is a brother to Octavie Trial Colfer. If anyone has any information that they feel I can use I would really appreciate it. One of my sons is very interested in family history and the Trial family is the only one I have not been able to trace. Thanks, Sue

Hi! it's Michael

I'm feeling great since I know you have received my
letter ! I'm very happy ! Sunday, I couldn't answered because it was La Saint Jean-Baptiste, our national holiday. Many offices and stores are closed that day. Now I'm in the municipal library writing this message! Today, I received a call from Shirley, the mother of Kristy. It was great to talk to another person of Trial family. Even if I almost didn't understand what she was saying to me !!!!!!!!

She said she sent (or Kristy) a letter I will receive probably next week with many infos.

About you
I would like to know more about you !

your birth day?
your brother, sister?
what do you do to live? etc....

I still continue my research and wait for your answer.

Au Revoir !!!
À bientôt !!!
Michael
