Thank you to both of you for your responses. I did review the messages on Genforum. I still did not see information on David F Tribble and what happened to him as there are no other census that I see him listed. Tom, I have a few discrepencies (sp) in the list you posted.

1. Francis Pruitt Tribble, JR 1g m1} Elizabeth A Carthage b1824 and I think she was married to Francis Pruitt Tribble SR. I can't find proof of this right now but I will keep trying. I thought there was a marriage license

I was going to send an e-mail to both of you but couldn't find e-mail addresses.

2. 1g1 Mary Tribble might be the same as Mary Tribble that is 1c. If she was a daughter of F P Jr, then she would probably be listed with F P and David F on the 1880 census.

3. There is a misspelling on 1g6. It is Claudie Elizabeth Tribble.

4. 1g7 Is Major Blaylock which was Maggie Rodgers son by a later marriage. He was b 1894 and d Jan 16,1912, Frederick OK. He was AKA Carl Edward Blaylock, Carl Blaylock, Major Tribble, and Carl Blalock Tribble. I found Maggie Tribble in the 1900 Census in Texas with her 5 children.

I still am having trouble finding any info on Maggie Rodgers family. This brick wall has me stumped.

I have been searching for my ggrandparents for some time now. My ggrandfather was Francis Pruitt Tribble, Jr. married to ggrandmother Maggie Rodgers, m 1884. I have hit brick wall in search for Maggie Rodgers family. In researching, I came across marriage for F P Tribble and Miss L J Ross Feb 1878. In 1880 Census, F P Tribble was listed as widower with son David F, 3 months old. Does anyone know what happened to David F? Does anyone have info on family of Maggie Rodgers Tribble? This may have been discussed before and if so, I apologize for repeating the subject.

Re: Seeking information on Shadrack Tribble and sons

Hi,Phil.

Keith Rozendal, in his book, The Tribbles, II (Descendants of Peter Trible of Esses County, Virginia) listed Cornelius, Shadrack, Spilsby, and others apparently in this line.

He does note that one of Spilsby's (b. 1741 Caroline Co., VA) sons was Shadrach (among others). He does not denote any birth date for Shadrach.

Keith then documents another Shadrach Tribble in Clermont Co., OH, b. 1791 in NC. But he does not connect the two.

He then lists the children of Shadrach as Cornelius, the the children of Cornelius as follows:
Alpheus
?
Alonsow
Allison
Amos
?
Joel
John
William

He documented many of the family memembers of these offspring.

You may be entirely right about these two Shadrach's being the same person, in which case the lineage you suggest is entirely probable.

I would be happy to send you copies of the pages from Keith's book (including references) if you have not seen this reference; and I will also include any references that I might have gathered on these folk as well.

He then lists the children of Shadrach as follows:
Alpheus
?
Alonsow
Allison
Amos
?
Joel
John

Just shoot me a snail mail address.

If you have further information about these families not included in Keith's or my references, I would be happy to see these.

Tom Tribble

Tom@Tribble.com
Note that there are alternate spellings for all these folks ... for example "Cornelious" vs. "Cornelius", "Shadrach" vs. "Shadrack" vs. "Shadrick". And last names include "Trible" vs. "Tribble" vs. "Treble" ... and "Stephens" vs. "Stevens".

Well, hello, Michael:

While we don't have a lot of information to go on right now, I did a brief survey of the IL census to find this information (assuming that your family mostly came from Cook Co., IL):

Charles Tribble, b 1867 Canada, England
Mary ?, b 1869 Ireland
Children:
Michael, b.
Lisa thank you for your look up. If you run across where
Naoma and William were married I would love a copy or where to look it up. I found Naoma and her children in Arkansas 1860 but no William. Have not found if he died in Ark or Ga or on the road to Ark. All of their children were born in Ga.
My GGrandfather was John B Tribble. The B. stands for Berry or Benjamin. Both names are in the family for several generations.

H.A.Tribble c. 1911 I have a letter written by him

I have just published a biograghy of my father A WAYWARD INTELLECT The Life of Egbert Eames". He was a great letter writer and I have some interesting letters written to him. One is from H.A. Tribble, written on 8th Sept. 1911 from 2 Rectory Road, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. It is not clear if that was his permanent home or if he was on holiday there but it is clear from the letter that he is very familiar with Newcastle and often took trips on cargo boats from there. He and my father were both 'boy clerks' training for the civil service in London, so he would have been about my father's age in 1911. My father was 19. The letter is in the book, available online.

Seeking information on Shadrack Tribble and sons

I am a descendant of Cornelius Tribble, who was born in North Carolina and lived in Clermont County, Ohio during the early 1800's. According to the 1850 Census, Cornelius was born in North Carolina about 1791. Cornelius served in the War of 1812 (from Ohio), married Sarah Stevens (also of North Carolina) in Clermont County in 1813, and is listed in tax/census records in Clermont County in 1820, 1830 and 1840. His children included Alpheus, Alanson, Amos, and Asenith. Other sons may include John and William (listed in 1850 census with Sarah and Cornelius).

I believe Cornelius likely was a son of Shadrack Tribble, who also lived in Clermont County for a time. According to early tax list records and census records, Shadrack first shows up in Clermont in 1806, and then is present in 1807, 1809, 1810, 1811, 1820.

Later I see a Shadrack Tribble in Warren County, TN (1830, 1836, 1840), and I'm assuming this is the same Shadrack? Some data bases state that this Shadrack Tribble died in Coffee Co., TN in 1848, and was born about 1765, but I don't know the source(s) of that information. Does anyone have source records for his birth or death?

According to Herman Fagley, a well known Clermont County researcher, Shadrack Tribble:

- Likely preached north of Bethel, OH on Clover Road

- Was close kinsman of Rev Andrew Tribble, of Tate's Creek Baptist, in Madison Co.

- Shadrack Tribble lived at Bethel,Oh. Likely Orange
Co,Va > NC > Boonesboro,Ky > to Clermont CO,OH.

- Rev Shadrack Tribble-returned someplace in Ky leaving sons.

I have no proof, but I'm assuming that Cornelius is one of those son's, since Shadrack and Cornelius are the only two Tribbles listed in Clermont County records during this era. Further, if the 1765 birth date is correct, Shadrack would be about the right age to be the father of Cornelius (not a sibling, etc.).

I therefore speculate that my line goes from Cornelius > Shadrack > Spilsby > Shadrack > George > Peter Tribble. Does this sound right?

Does anyone have additional information about either Cornelius or Shadrack? Does anyone know who Shadrack's wife would have been? Other relevant information? Thanks!

I understand that the "first" Spilsby Tribble died in Davidson Co., TN in 1799. As such, I was not sure if the Spilsby Tribble in Wilkes Co., NC was him (versus maybe a younger Spilsby Trible). From your post, however, I assume that Benjamin Tribble was in Wilkes County before he moved to GA, so maybe his brother Spilsby was also in Wilkes County before he moved to TN. Spilsby and Benjamin's brother William Tribble moved to Wilkes Co., NC, and in 1788, in noted that a Shadrack Trible and a Spilsby Trible appeared on an estate record in Wilkes County. Do you think that this was the "first"/"oldest" Spilsby Trible or was this perhaps some later man in the family with the same name? In either case, who was the father of this Shadrack Trible in NC in 1788?

There was a William Brown in Wilkes County who left his will in 1800 in Ashe Co., NC (which was created from a part of Wilkes County in 1799). This William Brown was married to a Catherine Unknown, and their children included boys named Shadrack Brown, Benjamin Brown and John Brown. Do you think that William Brown's wife Catherine might have been a Trible? I note that there were some Browns in the Halifax/Pittsylvania/Lunenburg Co., VA area where the "first" Shadrack Tribble moved before he died around 1759 (including a John Brown who died there in the early-mid-1750s....and there was also a William Brown in that area. Could the William Brown in Wilkes Co., NC have met and married into the Tribble family in that part of VA?

A sister of the "first" Shadrack Tribble was apparently the Mary Tribble who married Abraham Brown (he died by 1735 in Caroline Co., VA). Abraham Brown was a son of Daniel Brown "I" and Jane Copeland of Essex Co., VA, and a grandson of Francis Brown "I" (died 1691/1692 in Essex Co., VA) and his wife Elizabeth. Francis Brown "I" had a son who was named Francis Brown "II," and Francis "II" had a son of his own who was named Daniel Brown "II." Daniel Brown "II" also married a woman named Elizabeth Coleman (who was from the same overall Coleman family as the younger Elizabeth Coleman who married Shadrack Tribble....both woman were certainly out of the Robert Coleman who married Anne Spilsby in the 1600s). In my opinion, however, is quite possible that the William Brown in Wilkes Co., NC who was married to Catherine Unknown was NOT from the Francis Brown "I" family of Essex Co., VA....but I certainly do not know that for sure at this point. Comments? Thanks!

I am trying to find information on descendants of Ralph & Elsie Tribble who relocted from Hempstead, Arkansas to Maricopa County, Arizona sometime around 1920. I am specifically looking for information on one of their sons, Boyd Frances Tribble (or Frances Boyd). He was born in Jan. 1913 and passed away in October 2002 in Sonoma County, Ca. He had a wife, Willa, with whom he was divorced and they had a daughter, Barbara. If anyone knows anything about any part of this family, I'd deeply appreciate it.
