I know this is seven years late, but I just started working on my Trice lineage. Edward T. and William were brothers to my great great grandfather James B. Trice (Jimmie). Edward T. and James B. are buried in Glenwood cemetery in Upshur County. Their father and mother were Edward Trice and Harriett ?. I am trying to find Harriett's maiden name. If you are still working on this, I would love to correspond with you.

Thanks folk, I do appreciate what people do for me, but this wasn't any help to me.
The secrets our parents keep from us as kids leave big holes in our history. I can't find any of my family on my mother's side, including my Grandmother. I do have one big clue, the indian rolls in Florida, I'm half-indian.

Thank you again for being helpful in my journey. Greg.

Henry, Robert Holmes Trice was the son of Richard Anderson Trice, Sr. born 9 Aug 1816 in Virginia and Anna Elizabeth D. Meriwether born about 1817 in Virginia.

My husband and I have spent several years tracing Trices and have our database on RootsWeb.com - World Connect under database wetrices. If you will go there you will find all the ancestors for Richard Anderson Trice, Sr. for many generations. I have 7 children for them and Robert Holmes Trice is shown as Robert H. Trice.

I would appreciate your furnishing me with descendants of Robert Holmes Trice down to the current ones to add to my database. Please respond to wetrices@yahoo.com.

Suzanne H. Trice

Trying to Trace Trice Lineage

Hi there,
My grandfather, Richard Anderson Trice, just died and I want to make sure that I capture his lineage. I have him back to Robert Holmes Trice, born April 11, 1845 in Goochland County (probably Hadensville), Virginia. I would like to follow his lineage back even further. He was married to Virginia Catherine Lacy born March 31, 1853. I have that his father was a Trice and his mother was a Meriwether. I also believe that he was the postmaster of the county and that he served in the Confederate Army as a member of Goochland Troop 225.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Henry Fieglein

I am searching for information on Tennessee Adeline Trice b. Jan of 1864 d. Sept 16, 1931 in texas. Her father is Joseph Alexander Trice and mother is Ophelia Rogers. She has two sisters Alabama Trice, married to a Fowler, and Missouri Jane Trice, married DePrang. Tennessee first married Joseph C. Hammond - my ggGrandfather, then remarried a Matthew N. Hyden. She also had two brothers, James Perry Trice and Thomas Enoch Trice. I have some information, mostly from census records, family bibles, and a few obituaries. I am looking for information more on where Tennessee (Tennie) went after the Hammond died and on where Alabama went to. The last we found on her was that she was in Texas and married to a Fowler.

I am searching for parents of Bell/Belle Trice born about 1854 in Alabama. She is first found in Dougherty Co., Georgia on the 1880 census as a single woman (Bell Trice) with an 8 year old daughter, (Lelia Kile) who was born in Georgia.
Bell married a J. (James) C. Culpepper in 1880 under the surname of Brice.
She is found again in Albany, Dougherty Co., GA on the 1900 and 1910 census.
No record of her is found on the 1920 census. It is believed that she was living in North Carolina around 1924. There is a Belle Culpepper listed on the 1930 census in Petersburg, VA., which may be her.
It is believed that Bell may have been part Indian or African American, but most records show her as white.
Would like to know if she ties in with the Trices of NC, GA and AL.

Thanks,
My great grandfather was Tom Trice Sr. My grandfather was Tom Trice Jr. My father is Calvin James Trice. Tom Trice Sr was born around 1872 in Baker County Newton Ga. That is where he was married and raised 10 children. Tom Trice Sr died in Baker County in 1940. I live in Denver Colorado and I am very very interested in finding out about my roots before my great grandfather Tom Trice Sr. I do know his father was a white male and mother a black female. We are Black.

Could that be the same church as you mentioned Liberty Baptist now in A.P. Hill. Is there a church there now? Is that a government land?

thank you. I did buy the book about 2 years ago. Mostly, we know where all of Laura's direct descendents are. What I am trying to do is branch out a bit from Laura. See if any of the other Trice descendents have pictures of Laura or her mother and father. Is there more history yet on Susan Bailey Trice? There wasnt before. We'd love to have more info or pictures on Laura Ann. The book is priceless. I am so grateful to have it.

I have also wondered about setting up a Trice site for this family of Trices. There is a site for Trices but this family of Trices is not linked to that one, apparently.

Thanks!!!

Which one of the Trices is in your family line?
