Joris Rapalje, husband of Catalyntje Trico

There's a recently published article entitled "The fraudulent Coligny-Rapalje descent". In it John Blythe Dobson shows the errors in the discredited (yet persistent) idea that the immigrant to New Netherland, Joris Jansen Rapalje, was a descendent of a "Gaspard Coligne/Colet de Rapalje".

It is in vol. 2, number 1 of the Annals of Genealogical Research. The article is available at
http://www.genlit.org/agr/viewarticle.php?id=10

I am trying to find out if Jeronimus had any other children. I am in need of a son or brother for him.

In my recent searching I have found another daughter for him by the name of Margaret Tricault (born abt. 1612) and that she married one - Jan De La Fontayne on May 21/1632.

I also found out that Jeronimus Tricault married Michele Sauvagie and that Jeronimus was born in Jever, Osteeland, Holland abt. 1587.

Hello,

To anyone interested. (Jever, Osteeland, Holland) concerning this address, I just recently found out from a message fb a Dutchman on another group that "Jever, Osteeland is NOT part of Holland BUT is part of Germany, therefore we have been looking in the wrong country.

Good luck to all of us and if anyone finds anything I would love to hear about it.

TRECO, TRICO TRECU

Looking for ancestors of John Peter Treco born about 1800.
He and his wife Patience migrated to the Bahamas sometime between 1817-1819.

If anyone knows anything about the origins of the surname Treco I would appreciate hearing from you. They may have
been descendants of French Huguenots.

Unfortunately, I can not help you on that score. I have found no siblings to Jeronimus or sons. I agree with you that he did have another daughter named Margriet. Where did you get the date for Margriet's marriage to Jan? My date is of June 9, 1632 in Amsterdam, Holland.
In regards to Jeronimus, I have him born abt 1579 in Paris, France. All well! Unless someone goes to Paris and find the exact records, no date will be absolutely definite.

Hi.
I am definitely a descendant of Jeronimus Tricault. Unfortunately, I am precisely where everybody else is in Jeronimus' ancestry. (Who are his parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.?) I come down throught the de Rapelie line into the Hoochlandts (presently: Hoaglands). What do you need?
