Searching for any TRIPPE/TRIPPE in Columbiana, Coshocton, Tuscarawas, Auglaize, or Mercer Counties between 1810-1900.
Oldest known ancestor is George TRIPPE, b. ca. 1786 probably PA, lived in Middleton Twp, Columbiana Co. OH 1820 with a wife, a daughter between 10-14 and 4 sons under 10, two of whom were William and John. After 1820 he had (known) children George Jr. b. abt 1823, Eliza (who may be George Jr's wife) b. abt 1831, and Sarah b. abt 1840.
George Sr. moved with son William and his wife Sarah, maybe other children, between 1835-1840 to Coshocton Co. OH. A close neighbor and possible relative of about George's age, named William PANCAKE, also moved to Coshocton Co. at about the same time. George TRIPPE Sr. died before 1850, presumably in Coshocton County. His widow Mary was there in 1850 with George Jr., Eliza, and Sarah.
William TRIPPY also died before the 1850 Coshocton Co. census - his widow Sarah had a 9-month-old baby. Two other children were married in Tuscarawas Co. in 1854 and 1862.
Son John TRIPPY married Sophia YOUNG, remained in Columbiana Co., had 2 known children: Susannah b. 1841 and Samuel b. 1843, who married siblings Isaac and Hannah BURLINGAME. They may have had TRIPPY relatives who moved on to Auglaize/Mercer Co. OH, as they were there between 1883-1889.
A couple named John and Sophia TRIPPY, both born 1814, are buried in Martin Co. Indiana; could be the above couple but I have nothing to link them to that place.
I have found TRIPPEs in census transcriptions as TREPPEY and TRIPPER, along with the more common variants. Any tidbit, however remote, is welcome.
