      <description>Hi,&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I've been researching the Trostel/Trostle families for about 20 years now.  The "Scranton" Trostel's are related to Abraham Trostel who arrived in America in 1752 and settled in the Berks-York-Adams Co.       <description>I am searching the Trostel family that settled in Scranton, PA.  Three brothers Karl (known as Charles), William and Herman had butcher shops at various times.  Karl was my g-grandfather.  I have a handwritten note from him may help others searching this line.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Reads as follows:  Karl August Trostel:  Age 43 years.  Was born in Wurtenburg, Germany on 31 day December year of 1865.  Arrived to United States of America from Havre, France of vessel La Lasogne from residence Hutingsheim, Wurtenburg, Germany. Arrived port of New York City on 11th day of November in 1885. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;If others are interested in sharing info or phots, please let me know.  </description>

      <description>Glenda V. Kemp, 71, of Ephrata, passed away at her home on Friday, October 1, 2004. She was born on February 14, 1933 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. to Willie and Dora (Kirkman) Trostel.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She attended school in Poplar Bluff before moving to St. Louis where she attended and graduated from Hadley Tech High School in 1951.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Glenda married Don Kemp in St. Louis on August 10, 1951. They moved to Escondido, Calif. in 1957, where they made their home until moving to Vancouver, Wash. in 1986. They moved to Ephrata in 1989.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Glenda was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Church in Moses Lake. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Don Kemp of Ephrata; two brothers, Dewey Trostel of Ephrata and Wayne Trostel of Bell, Mo.; three sisters, Hazel Mann, Joyce Berhorst and Angie Becklin, all of Bell; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was preceded in death by her son, Mark in 1998.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Moses Lake.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy assisting with arrangements.</description>
