My maiden name was Trowbridge.My connection is to a Thomas Trowbridge who went from London to Melbourne and married a Mary Byng. Mary had emigrated from Ireland with her sister Jane. Thomas and Mary were my great x3 grandparents. Any connection?

I have Trowbridge ancestors from NW OHIO. The earliest being William (Sarah Leverton) Trowbridge. He died in 1888. They had 3 girls and then 2 boys: George (Barbara) and Cyrus (Helen). Any association there? On the census it says his parents were born in England. I'd appreciate any help.

trying to determine that myself....unable to trace back at this time...however....it's getting better with some of the info provided by Ontario Registry offices. There are some in Alberta where I am but I dont believe they're closely related to me either.

I don't recall her having a first husband. I know we used to exchange letters years ago with a Max Trowbridge (as a matter of fact, several Trowbridges, but they all died), but I thought they were cousins on Grandma's side.

I guess I should of added that I have seen the information from the Trowbridge book, actually I have seen the Trowbridge book and that was my original source but I have also seen the following Per Geraldine Byers McCleary info:
"Buried in LoneTree (east Des Moines), IA. There is a family cemetary
on Lenz Century Farm where David, two wives, and one child are buried."
I also find the following information for his son Samuel Name: "Samuel O. Trowbridge
Death Date: 28 Feb 1904
Page #: 330
Birth Date: 03 Jun 1836
Cemetery: Oakland
Town: Quincy, Quincy
Level Info: Burial Records Adams County, Ia."

For several years I have been reseraching David Lewis Trowbridge born in 1811 in Virginia and died in 1894 in and now the question either Lonetree, Cass, Missouri or Lonetree, Iowa. Does anyone have a definitive answer to this question such as a picture of a burial marker with a notation of the exact place? Can some one fromthe Samuel Orrin Trowbridge family prehaps help out, since this child stayed in the midwest and supposely in Iowa.

I am applying for membership in the DAR. I have a "preponderance" of evidence to indicate that Caroline Trowbridge Fewlass was the daughter of Elisha and Ruth Trowbridge, but, according to the Registrar, more information would strengthen my application.

My results so far:

1. Fulton Co. deed from Elisha and Ruth selling land to William Fewlass. Does not refer to Wm. as son-in-law; does not mention Caroline.
2. "The Trowbridge Family" genealogy prepared in 1872 lists Caroline as dau of Elisha and Ruth. No proofs given.
3.Marriage record of Caroline Trowbridge and William Fewlass; parents not identified.
4. "History of Ohio Methodist Central Conference" list Elisha, Ruth, Caroline and William all by name as early church members, but does not explain relationships.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm confused. I just started researching this family and I found the WWI draft card for Everette Going Trowbridge -b. Dec. 20, 1881, he was living in Jackson County, OR,in 1917/18, single, cabinet maker,and listed his mother Emma Trowbridge in Hancock, MI as his next of kin. I found Helen P. Trowbridge in the 1920 MI census - listed as widowed. Are these actually the same Everettes and he and Helen were divorced? Or are they two different ones?

So far, I didn't find any Adner Sackett in the 1790, 1800, nor 1810 US census indices. There also seems to be some conflicting info on her birthplace, MA, or CT.

Olive Sacket/Sackett is listed in F.B.T.'s book as the wife of Dr. James Trowbridge (1792-1816). They were married in 1816 in what is now Warren, MA. After he died in Wisconsin, she moved back to NY and remarried. I've been trying to find her birth records and info about her parents. F.B.T lists her father as Adner Sackett & Mary Barker. Some trees on the web have her as Mary Baker. Has anyone found evidence for her parents?

I am doing some research on an Alta Trowbridge who has a son named Patrick Menard Trowbridge, he died in 1983 in Tarrant County, Tx. The Louise in the same cemetery could be her, though her death certificate says nothing about a Louise being her name. Her grandmother was named Louise and she died in 1973, being born in 1913.

Hi there - trying to find info on Laura for us shirt-tail relatives in Australia.
Laura & James were my GGGrandparents.
James was an architect in Roswell, designed most of the govt buildings in the area.
Their son Benjamin Harrison emigrated to Aust with his wife Edith Haigh (my beloved GG). Harry was a photographer comissioned to cover the opening of Luna Park amusement park in Melbourne.

I'm heading to NY in 3 weeks - thought i might head to Morristown for some pics.
Any Trowbridges like to show me the sites - no records of deaths in Morristown so not sure if graveyards are worth the effort.

Evelyn Trowbridge Gilles was my Grandmother's Cousin! I was so excited to see these pictures! We used to visit her every summer up in Houghton, Michigan. If you still have the pictures, we would love to have them. Unfortunatley after Evelyn passed, many of these pictures were lost forever! Searching for any information regarding the paternal line of my great grandfather Iven Wesley Widner.
Miss Grace Wilhelmina Trowbridge b. 6/20/1883 Kansas, married an unknown Widner.
They had two sons-
Blanch Ernest Widner b. 4/10/1901 Kansas
Iven Wesley Widner b. 01/07/1904 Kansas

Grace remarried a man named Kingman Lindman Fitzpatrick b. 12/18/1885/86.
In a Shawnee Co.1915? census found the 2 boys are listed as stepsons.
Somewhere & somehow Grace ended up on Ohio married to a man named ? Wallace William Ward b. 1874? MA.
They had a son Vernon Dwight Ward b. 10/07/1918 OH.
Both Ernest & Iven had their last names changed to Ward.

Now Grace is in California.
Apparently she remarried again to an unknown "Hathcock".
All of her sons were married and raised familys in CA.

Iven was married to Zelma Leathers and had a daughter in 1928 "Luana". Iven soon after changed his name back to Widner with his immediate family.

Any family line here? Please need help figuring out what Widner line we come from.

I am Frank Teachout in the post just below yours in the Trowbridge board on May 5 and 6th. I wondered if your Trowbridge book has any mention of Leewood Owen, L. Owen, or Owen Trowbridge, b.1880 Ohio. 1880 Census shows parents William and Lucy.
I believe his first wife was Bessie Sheets Trowbridge b. 1882 Ohio and in the 1920, 1930 US Census they lived in Monroe, Michigan. I am hoping he is the Owen Trowbridge that married my grandmother in their latter years in late 1930s or 1940s in that area. I was young then and only remember her being called grandma Trowbridge and she passed in 1977 as May Trowbridge in the SSDI listing. Any information would be appreciated.

per Trowbridge Geneology by Francis Bacon Trowbridge...... David married 1831 in West Virginia. Settled in Cass County, Missouri. Second, married 1860 in Iowa City, Iowa. She died in Lone Tree, Missouri. Third, married in Iowa City to Sarah Ann Divine. He died and was buried Jan 10, 1894 in Lone Tree, Missouri.

I have researched the Trowbridges a little because of their connection to the Belmer family. Francis Hubbard Trowbridge married Lorinda Belmer 1844 in Cambria, Niagara Co., N.Y. Lorinda was the daughter of Anthony Belmer and Mary Ann Laundre originally of St. Charles, "Lower Canada" who had emigrated to Franklin Co., N.Y. after 1819. Her brother Edward's biography is easily found with more details. The Belmer family moved from New York to Tuscola Co., Mi. where Anthony and Mary Ann and their sons Edward and Alexander lived for a number of years- in fact Edward stayed there while both Alex. and Lorinda went west to Neligh, Antelope Co., Ne.. Lorinda Belmer was b. 06 Jun 1820 in New York and died 10 Nov 1889 in Neligh, Antelope Co., Nebraska. Again, it is easy to find Neligh info on line, with details of early history, deaths and marriages. Adelbert appears to have been the first of his parents approximately 5 children born in New York and Wisconsin, where they lived for a few years before moving to Nebraska. I have Adelbert's wife's name recorded as Almedia Matteson. Minnie May Trowbridge married Oliver Freemont Bradeen and moved to Alberta, Canada. The Trowbridges and Bradeens intermarried a number of times linking back to the Belmers. I find all my info online, do not have subscriptions- good luck and let me know if I can offer any other info or leads on these folks though they are really off of my line...

My grandmother was Leah K. Owlett from Knoxville, Pa. I remember my mother mentioning the Trowbridge name, but never heard that my grandmother was one once.
