DES MOINES, Iowa -- Linda Diane Troxel, 58, Des Moines, formerly of the Clark House in Muscatine, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines.
Private family services will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. Casket bearers are Stacy Ridenour, Duane Fowler, Allen Troxel and Harold Troxel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Troxel was born Dec. 29, 1945, in Muscatine, the daughter of Walter B. and Angeline Globes Rock.
She enjoyed cross-stitching and her favorite collectible was the Looney Toon character, Tweety Bird.
Survivors include two sons, Harold 'Joe' Troxel and Allen D. Troxel, both of Muscatine; a daughter, Stacy Ridenour of Muscatine; two brothers, Eugene G. Rock of Muscatine and Dennis D. Rock of Ontario, Calif.; two sisters, Diana L. Nesbit and husband, Roy, of Muscatine and Walyne Polsom and husband, Clyde, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandchildren, Jessika Ridenour and Brandon Ridenour, both of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Steven Rock; and a sister, Angeline Marshall.
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Harold 'Joe' Troxel, 38, Muscatine, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Unity Hospital.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Greenwood Cemetery with military rites provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1565 and American Legion Combined Squad. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Jeffrey S. Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory 114 W. Fourth St., Muscatine. Casket bearers are Duane Fowler, David Fowler, Allen Troxel, Stacy Ridenour, Jessika Ridenour and Brandon Ridenour. A private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, July 24, at the funeral home. At the family's request, there will be a lunch break from noon until service time on Saturday.
Mr. Troxel was born Dec. 15, 1965, in Muscatine, the son of Darrell and Linda Diane Rock Troxel.
He was a graduate of Louisa-Muscatine High School.
He was a U.S. Marines veteran.
He was employed as an assembler for Allsteel, Muscatine, and was previously a mechanic at McKee Button Co. for 11 years.
He enjoyed sports, particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Cubs and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He loved to build and work on trucks and to take care of his dog, Buddy.
Survivors include his father, Darrell Troxel of Muscatine; a brother, Allen Troxel of Muscatine; a sister, Stacy Ridenour of Muscatine; a niece, Jessika Ridenour; a nephew, Brandon Ridenour; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a cherished friend, Lon Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his mother on June 1, 2004; his maternal and paternal grandparents; several uncles; and one aunt.
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ruby O. Duffield Troxel, 99, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, July 31 2007, at Lutheran Homes, 22 days short of her highly anticipated 100th birthday.
A memorial has been established at the funeral home in her name for Lutheran Homes.
Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Following services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room.
Ruby Atkins was born on August 22, 1907, the daughter of Eli Adelbert and Lorinda Burr Atkins in Rochester.
She married Harry N. Duffield on Oct. 18, 1924, in Fort Madison. he died Dec. 11, 1965.
She later married Harold C. Troxel on March 8, 1967, in Muscatine. He later died on Sept. 20, 1989.
She was employed at Hawkeye Button Factory from 1944-1958 and later worked for Dr. Roudybush for 12 years.
She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing, music, traveling, quilting and croqueting.
She had attended Wesley United Methodist Church for many years.
Ruby will be deeply missed by five daughters; Sophia McDonald and Donna J. Lentocha, both of Muscatine, Velma Graham and husband James of Moline, Ill., Lillian Profitt of Hermitage, Mo., and Lorinda Schmelzer of Buffalo, Mo., two sons; Harry Duffield and wife Tommie of Ingleside, Texas, and Myles Duffield and wife Pat of Clovis, N.M., two step-daughters; Haroldyne Lucas and Elaine Ferrell both of Muscatine, and one step-son; Daryl Troxel of Muscatine, 24 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters, eight brothers, one step-son and one great grandchild.
