POW/MIA Korean War

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Guadalupe County, New Mexico as his home of record. His remains were never recovered. Our government has no family contact at this time for this soldier

Soldier: ISIDRO E TRUJILLO
Born: 1927
Date of loss: October 14, 1952 MIA

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Are you still looking for Lucas and Sara (Roswell, NM) The Lucas I am aware of was the son of Praxades Trujillo (a founder of Roswell, NM). Another son of Praxedes Trujillo was Jesus Trujillo (Lucas older brother) who moved to Carlsbad, NM and farmed in Otis/Loving, NM.

Gerald Trujillo Holguin

My mother was Martha Melendres, youngest sister to Antonio Melendres de Trujillo. Our family originated in Dona Ana Village and migrated to Lincoln, California. My mother eventually married Pedro Amador Flores of Sacramento, California.

Please, I hope that you are still available to discuss our family.
I also located your bulletin board posting on RootsWeb.com but the AOL address that you were using for that posting no longer functions.

Regards, Richard

I am looking for a Alberto or Gilbert Trujillo (illegible on the death records of their son) that was married to Angelina Cordova back in the 1800's. Their son Seferino Trujillo is my step-great-grandfather and I am trying to find his line.

Seferino was born in 1882 and died 9/09/1945 in Denver, Colorado. He had two sons with my great-grandmother, Guillermo (William) & Florentio (Floyd) Trujillo.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bill, thanks so much for checking in Santa Fe for me. I would very much like to see what you have on Don Diego. I would email you directly but don't have your complete email address. Please send what you have to pigibank@gmail.com and I will be deeping indebted to you.

I was recently in Santa Fe but didn't have time to check all the archieves...I was there trying to find my parents roots in Sapello and Mora. It's such beautiful country but I found it rather delolate and isolated; however, we did find the old mill in Sapello that my grandfather and my father and his brothers ran before it closed down in about 1930....very interesting. I also found a cousin in Sapello that runs the local Post Office. Ernie Trujillo

Michael, I read your post of 2 Jul 2004 with interest. I am looking for any and all info I can find on Diego De Trujillo in hopes of filling some blanks. I looked for books by Jesse Trujillo on Amazon.com and didn't find any. Can you let me know where you bought the book so I can bone up on the Trujillo family? As you may have guessed, I'm a late comer to this genealogy stuff :) Thanks, Ernie Trujillo

P.S.
Thanks for you post. Michael's post is alomost 5 years old so maybe he's not out here anymore; however, if I am able to find the Jesse Trujillo book, I'll post it here so you can get it as well. You might look at Barbara Gonzales work on Diego De Trujillo (b.1613) as she seems to have found that Diego's parents are Francisco De Trujillo Villavicenco (b.1588 Mexico City) and Marian De Salas Jorosco (b.1592 Mexico City). She cites the book "Origins of New Mexico Families" by Fray Angelico Chavez,pg 112. Amazon.com has the book at $34 dollars (normally $50), I just haven't purchased it yet but will soon.

Good luck on your search. If you want to contact me directly at pigibank@gmail.com, we can determine if we're somehow related. Thanks...Ernie Trujillo

Dee, I saw your post on one of the Roots message boards and enjoyed reading the info you had on Diego De Trujillo. Our Trujillo family goes back to him also and I was wondering if you ever found a birth certificate on him? Your
post was dated 2001 and I tried sending you a message at the email address listed and it rejected. I'd enjoy hearing from you to see where our families might
connect, if at all. Ernie Trujillo

Recently I went to the Fray Angelico Chavez archives in downtown Santa Fe to ask about records from Mexico for Ernie.

There is a microfiche at the State Archives on Cerrillos Rd in Santa Fe, NM and also at UTEP (Univ. of TX, El Paso) that may contain information about Diego's parents. The keyword for these documents is Durango. There may be other documents in Mexico City and in Spain and possible copies of the Durango documents that are not listed in the database.
I have a hard copy of the info page somewhere. Email me if you want a copy.

Adolph was my father's brother. My father is Antonio Simon Trujillo. Adolph married Isabel Dominguez who was the sister of my mother Elsie (Elisa) Dominguez. Isabel had sons Ronald, Donald, and Dennis and daughter Patsy Trujillo. Isabel was a smart and beautiful woman who my dear mother loved dearly and always spoke so proudly of. She would always say of her older sister Isabel, that she worked on income taxes for people; that was a very big thing to my mom and meant the her sister was very intelligent. I also have very fond memories of my cousins of whom only Dennis (Denny) and Patsy remain. My aunt Isabel remarried a Mr. Sanchez and there were other little cousins from that marriage. Hope this helps???? -- Sincerely, Loyola Rose Trujillo

Here is a link for 3 of your ancestors
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...
