My Husband's grandmother was Amelia Trystad or Tragstad. She met her husband, Severin Koop, when she was living in Minneapolis, possibly she was a dancer/actress, and moved to Crosby Minnesota. If any one has any clues I would much appreciate it!!

Here's your Erick Trygstad. I just dumped this onto the site yesterday. It also includes a photo I can scan if you reply soon enough, otherwise it'll go back into the granary amidst the piles and piles of papers. This paper also included a bio on Martin Trygstad which I posted as well.

http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/link.php?action=detail&amp...

Hi Chelsea and Ryan,

I know for certain that Chelsea and I are related through Elva Thompson Skrede. My grandmother was her sister Hazel Thompson > Lake, Morrison> Somerfeld (married three times). Chelsea, you will find that members of the Skrede family still live in Readstown, Wisconsin. I think the following person may be a relative (as Skrede is an unusual name and Readstown is a very small village)

Kenneth N. Skrede
608-629-5579
213 Center Street
Readstown, Wi 54652

Elva and Hazel's father was Martin B. Thompson but they have different mothers. Both Elva and Hazel are mentioned in M.B. Thompson's obituary by their married names. If you check for Ellis Pusy Thompson on RootsWeb.com you will find the family tree for the Thompsons who are related by marriage to the Micheners of Pennsylvania and were Quakers.

My great grandmother was Martha Erickson, daughter of Jacob Erickson and Sara Ameson of Harmony, Vernon County Wisconsin. Your great grandmother, Elva, was born a couple of years after Hazel on March 20th, 1888. Elva died in March of 1979 in Readstown. Her social security number was 389-68-8103. She was married to Albert Skrede. Her death record is the first time I saw Syneva Trygstad's name and I had not known that Martin Thompson had remarried, but it seems that we have evidence of it through his obituary and Elva's death notice states that she is buried in Readstown Cemetery.

Please let me know if I can help you further. I plan a visit to Viroqua to do genealogical research and take photographs. I will photograph Elva's headstone for you and send you whatever else I can find on the Skrede, Thompson and Trygstad families of that area.

Your Cousin,

Kathy Lake
I'm not sure if it is the same family or not, because my Great Great Grandma Trygstad is on my dad's side of the family, and he was the first Olson on that side. However, I would still like to hear about the Trygstad family tree. I don't have any more information about Syneva Trygstad besides the fact that she married a Thompson, and had a daughter called Elva who married Albert Skrede, and Evla and Albert had a daughter called Elizabeth Skrede, who married Alvin Olson.

Hi Angela,
I'm another Trygstad. I don't think you and I are related, at least not closely, but I can tell you that your Norwegian family and mine lived on the same farm in Verdal, Norway, and took the name of that farm as their surname when they came to America. Nils and Kristianna Trygstad knew my great-grandparents well. Both families also lived for a time within a few miles of each other in the same part of southern Minnesota before your Trygstad family moved to Brookings. I have spent the past 4 years researching my Trygstad Norwegian heritage. If you wish to contact me directly, please respond with your e-mail address and I will contact you.

Tami
I know of a couple of Joe Trygstads, but I am not familiar with the name Philomina Bunkers in connection with either of them. Can you give me any additional info: Age, DOB, etc for Joe?

Darrell,

I'm searching for information on Peder Tørrisen Trygstad b. 1846 and Anna Andersdatter b. 1855 and Peder's son Theodor Pederson Trygstad b. 1873. (his mother - Mette Pettersdatter b. 1849) It was suggested to me that Peder died in Goodhue Co. MN, also that Theodor married and had about 10 children and lived in MN. I know that Peder, Anna, and Theodor all went to Minneapolis, but where they went after, I'm unsure. As far as I know I'm not connected to the Trygstads of SD, Peder just happened to have been born there and took the name when he came to the U.S.. I'm related by way of Theodor's older half brother, Ole Andreas Pederson b. 1870 (his mother - Bergitte Jacobsdatter b. 1841), he is my great grandfather. Are you familiar with any of these names? Or do you need more info on them?

Thanks

Michael Atchison
Birmingham, AL
Trygstad family of Minnesota

I'm researching my great great grandfather, Peder Tørrisen Trygstad.

Peder Tørrison Trygstad b. November 18 1846 in Trøgstad, Verdal, Nord-Trøndelag, Norway, came to MN in 1881 d. March 3 1931 maybe in Wanamingo, Goodhue, Minnesota. Had a son with Bergitte Jacobsdatter Hjelden named Ole Andreas Pederson b. June 4 1870 d. 1942 in Minneapolis, MN. Peder then married in 1872 to Mette Pettersdatter b. Jul 16 1849 d. 1875. Peder and Mette had one son, Theodor Pederson Trygstad b. Oct 2 1873, came to MN in 1882 with step mother. Peter remarried to Anne ?. I have heard that Theodor Pederson Trygstad married and had 10 children in MN.

Anyone know of Theodor Pederson Trygstad and his descendants? Any help would be great.

Michael Atchison
