The family has wondered if John had decendents and what happened to him. He is buried in the Tuckwiller cemetary near our home. Many of the decendents of David still live here around Rich Hollow and care for the cemetary. Could you tell us about his wife and children? Lynn

I have a John TUCKWILLER (1787) with wife, Mary (1795), and children, Mary (1822), Absalom (1826), and William (1831) listed in the 1850 Page Co., Va. census. In 1860, Page Co., Va.,1870, Culpeper Co., Va. & 1880 Culpeper Co., Va. census Absalom uses the surname of Tutwiler, as do his descendants to this day. In the 1840 Page Co., Va. census John is listed as Tuitwiler. I am trying to tie this family with other Tutwiler families that I have been researching for years in Rockingham Co., Va. I have parents for John as Thomas and Anna, but lack documentation. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Just starting to help a friend begin her Tuckwiller/Riffe, Dwyer, Hedrick genealogy. She is related to Tuckwiller through John Thomas, John, and Mary Catherine Riffe, Ester and Joseph Hedrick, Abigail and Aaron Dwyer, Mary Jane Dwyer born 1843 in WV married William Benjamin Hardacre, which would be her great grandfather. She is Margaret Linson, daughter of Edward Linson and Elizabeth Slaughter. Granddaughter of George Linson born abt 1790 in Greenbrier Co, VA and Elizabeth Hudsonpiller born abt 1792 also Greenbrier Co. Margaret was born in Ohio about 1848 and died before 1880.

No names for parents of Margaret Linson (not Linaon) -
Margaret Linson was married to William Richard Johnson, son of John Tribble Johnson and Caroline Tuckwiller. My grandfather, John H. Johnson, was born in London, Madison County, Ohio, to Wm R and Margaret. Is she lissted in your family?

David Tuckwiller and Sallie Linson Tuckwiller were the parents of Caroline Tuckwiller who married my ggg grandfather, John Tribble Johnson in June of 1834. I am now looking for a Margaret Linson who married my great grandfather . Could this be in he same Linaon family?

Karen, Hi. Found some history. David Tuckwiller married Sally Linnon May 29,1812. Had 2 brothers and 8 sisters. His father was John and his mother was Catherine Riffe. Hope this helps. Where are you from? I am from MO. My grandfather John Lewis Tuckwiller.

aka Sivilla, Civilla, and others. Married William Hanson/Henson in Botetourt, VA on March 01, 1785. I'm their 4th great grandson. I would like to fill in their family tree, especially upward. Does anyone know from what country they came? I think that Sivilla's father was Thomas Tuckwiller.
