COSHOCTON: Helen Elizabeth Turnbull, 88, joined her beloved husband "J.L." at 5:30 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at her home.
This past April 15, 2011 the couple had celebrated 72 years of marriage.
Born July 6, 1923 at Conesville, Ohio, Helen was the daughter of the late Clyde McKinley and Ada Merel (String) Phillips.
Helen had been employed as a decorator for the former Pope-Gosser China Company for over ten years, followed by employment for over ten years at RCA in Cambridge, Ohio.
Helen will be remembered for her love to help people and as being active in the V.F.W. #1330 Ladies Auxiliary where she was a lifetime member and served many years as Chaplain. Other memberships includes the American Legion Post #65 Ladies Auxiliary, and the former Cooties Auxiliary where she had served as president.
Surviving are several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to her husband James L. Turnbull who died July 9, 2011; and the couple's only son James "Jimmy" Turnbull; Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Pauline Easton; brother Klines Phillips and twin infant brothers.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 20, 2012, at the Free Funeral Home in Coshocton, OH with Pastor Charles Warren officiating.
Interment will follow at Canal Lewisville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 20, 2012 prior to the funeral service at 2:00 P.M.
