My grandfather was Leroy Turner of Attala Co. He was born in 1926 or 1927 either in Neshoba County or Leake County, MS. He died Jan 13, 1990. He was adopted by John A. Turner and Ella Belle Johnson Turner. He was told that his given name at birth was Roy Lee. His mother was Georgia Ester Watson Holder. This is supposedly John A.'s granddaughter. Ester had another child a George Holder born around 1927. Ester's parents were George Washington Watson and Penelope Pool Watson. My grandfather's real father is supposedly a Bill Gill who was born around 1892 and married Ester's sister Nancy Velma Watson in 1898. Bill and Ester lived in Attala County at one time.
