William Turner and James Norton both drew 1832 Indian land in the draw. These two were side by side neighbors in the 1850 walker Co census. William Turner's son Alexander had a child by Elizabeth Norton Census list Elizabeth 22 and Alexander 10. When the baby- William James Turner- was born in 1856 Alexander was 16. Elizabeth never knew how old she was in the following four census of record.Could not read or write. I know what happen to Elizabeth-- does any one know what happened to Alexander. He was in Co. H 23 Ga. Inf there is no futher record.

Not far from Copperas Cove, Texas abt 1887 there was a July Turner (or Julia) that m. my Grandfather, William Ernest (Bill) Walters and that had my Father, Dee Walters in 1888, Minnie Victory Walters in 1893 and Willie Lee Walters. Then the Mother (July) died at a young age. the year was 1898 or near that. I am looking for ANY Walters or Turners who has ANY knowledge of that incident around? THANKS! Whatever happened to my great grandfathers sister?

Lorinda / Larinda RUSSELL b. Abt 1864 Vermont parents Henry S. Russell & Orilla Mason (Henry's middle name was actually Cyrille and Orilla could be Aurelie Masson)

1870 (4th of June) She is Lorinda and lives in Shelburne, VT with her parents she is 7

1880 She is Larinda and lives with the Charles Prindle family in Charlotte, Vermont

I lose her after this date until the obituary of her mother in September on 1929 when she is listed as Mrs James Turner of Montpelier, Vermont

Possibilities and non possibilities...

Her parents are listed as b. Canada and Vermont at random

I had another relative refer to her as Lucinda.

1900 there is a divorced Lorinda Tatro...her parents are not the right ones.

1920 There is a James M Turner m. to an Ida (right age)...I found his death record for 1921...no Ida Turner to be found in 1930 in Ward 5, Montpelier (did she shorten her name?)

1930 There is a Mary Turner (abt right age) m. to a James Turner age 72 b. NY in East Montpelier...can't find them in 1920. (She is French Canadian and Mary & Marie area possibilty)

I have checked VT vital records until 1942 for Russell & Turner...no records.

James Turner could always be a second husband.

No hits on the French spelling of Letourneau...

Any advice, connections, help...

Any advice, help...she's making me nuts.

Nicholas Turner

My ancestors, William Turner (w.p. 1864, Monroe County, KY) and Frances ____ Turner came to Monroe County about 1828, and first appear in the 1830 Monroe Census.

This William Turner appears in 1820 Buckingham County, VA Census--the family profile matches--along with Joseph Turner's family, and the families of Thomas, Charles, and Jesse Hood, all of whom subsequently appear in 1830 Monroe County.

1820 Buckingham lists this William as "So. of N."--presumably "Son of Nicholas." Nicholas Turner also appears in 1820 Buckingham. In 1830 Buckingham, "Nicholas Turner Estate" appears instead.

Unfortunately, Buckingham was a burned county. Anyone related to or know anything about this Nicholas Turner family line?
