Turnipseed/Puckett  (View posts) Posted: 5 Sep 2000 1:18PM GMT
Juli, was glad and suprised to get this kind of information. If I read your message correct, my gg grandma grandpa was your ggg aunt and uncle. I have a letter that was written by James Puckett Sr. Feb. 1887 to his daughter Anna Puckett/Stevens, who was my g grandma. I also have a letter written by his son James Puckett, Jr. in March of 1887 to his sister, Anna, telling her that her father died the first of March and where he was buried. We know of Anna's sister, Scott Kennon (Puckett) Caldwell. We don't know of other siblings. In those letters there was a mention of a Lillie and Scott in the same sentence. We know that Scott was his daughter and therefore Lillie may have also been his daughter, but have not been able to prove that. Julia I sent you a e-mail, but you did not receive it. I don't know why.

Turnipseed

C. Spears  (View posts) Posted: 7 Nov 2000 5:16PM GMT
I am looking for a Turnipseed from Camden Dist. of SC who may have married my ancestor, Duncan Campbell of Chesterfield County, SC. Duncan came from Scotland around 1790. I don't have a first name. If you can help, it will be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a Turnipseed from Camden Dist. of SC who may have married my ancestor, Duncan Campbell who arrived in Chesterfield County, SC, from Scotland around 1790.

Can you help?

The 1790 census only lists 2 Turnipseeds from Camden Dist, Beat and Jacob, but I have not been able to find their children.

I would appreciate anything you can give me.

Turnipseed children

AWhitten7605  (View posts) Posted: 8 Nov 2000 7:14PM GMT
My grandmother's DAR application listed the
following children for Jacob Rebsamen:

Mary Magdalena Turnipseed b. 30 Aug 1786 m. John Brent Jr.
Elizabeth Turnipseed m. John Turnipseed
Frances Turnipseed m. Thomas Taylor
Sibyl Turnipseed
Katherine Turnipseed m. Adams F. Dulord (?)
Lorena (?) Turnipseed
Michael Turnipseed m. Susan Turnipseed
Barbara Turnipseed
Jesse Turnipseed
Mary Turnipseed

She says that the records come from a family
bible in the possesion of Mrs. Hollis Norman
of Pike County, Mississippi (this was in 1957).

Hope that helps.

I also don't know which Hans it was that
traveled with Beat. It was such a popular
name back then. Also, Beat switched his
name so often. Well good luck.
