Am looking for info on my husband's gggrandmother's family. Her name was Emma Turnipseed. Her father was Daniel Turnipseed, believe her mother's name was Margaret. She was born in SC. She married Radford Jones Fedric in 1846 @ Pickens Cty., AL. Believe she died about 1884 in Tallahatchie Cty., Mississippi.

I am from Charleston, Mississippi, I am retired
from the US Navy and now live with my Wife and Child
in Jacksonville Florida. After I retired from
the Navy I researched my Fedric Family Tree
I have a story about Radford Jones Fedric It goes from
when his G-Grandfather(John Fedric)came to the US with General
Layfette durning the American Revolution til when
RJ Fedric settled in Tallahatchie County after the Civil
War in about 1865.
RJ had about 8 kids and one of them is my
G-Grandfather David fedric.
In the story it says that RJ Fedric was coming from
N Carolina and he stoped in alabama and met Daniel
Turnipseed. And RJ was a great Carpender. So he built
Daniel a two story house and he became the head
overseer for the slaves on Daniels 3 plantations while
Fleix B Turnipseed, Emmas brother, went to Medical School
Eventually RJ Fedric Married Emma Turnipseed and thay went
into Mississippi with 3 slaves as a wedding gift and RJ was Building
houses and Building bridges for the Rail Road.
Before the Civil was RJ was a Muli Millionare
and I also believe that Felix and Daniel and some more Turnipseeds
are buried in an old unkeep Cematary near Cacilla, Ms just outside
Charleston,Ms That Edward Mays Fedric that now lives in Clarksdale Miss.
and his brother from Grnanada, Ms use to take care of But
Now E.M. Fedric is about 85 and his brotheris dead so noone takes care of it now

According to my records, Emma Melton Turnipseed was born 9 Mar 1823, and married Radford Jones Fedric. She was the daughter of Daniel Turnipseed (22 Jul 1793 - 18 May 1860) and Margaret Scott (13 Apr 1796 - 18 Apr 1856). This Daniel Turnipseed was the son of Felix Turnipseed and wife, Margaret (maiden name unknown), and Felix was the son of Beat Rebsamen (Turnipseed) who emigrated from Switzerland to South Carolina. I can give you much more if you're interested. Also, I would like to add to my Turnipseed records, and would greatly appreciate knowing more about the descendats of Emma Melton (Turnipseed) Fedric.

I am searching for any information on Matilda Turnipseed. All I know is she married Hope Hull Posey on 23 Jun 1861 in Montgomery Co., AL. They are found in the 1870 Van Zandt Co., TX census, and this shows she would have been born about 1839 in Alabama. The 1880 Van Zandt Co., TX census shows her parents were born in NC. In my records I have Matilda Turnipseed as one of nine children of Fletcher Turnipseed, who in turn was the son of Abraham and Mary (Lupo) Turnipseed, and grandson of Jacob Turnipseed (1760-1828).
