I have read the postings about Margaret Tyndale and Dr. Rowland Taylor with interest.
I am a descendent of Rowland Taylor and plan to take my family to Hadleigh in Suffolk County next month to see his church and the place where he was burned at the stake. I noted that the Tyndales trace their ancestry to Northumberland County, where John Taylor and Susan Rowland, the parents of Dr. Rowland Taylor, were reported to have been born in 1485 and 1509 respectively.
There is much that I would like to find out about the Tyndale and Taylor relationship and I hope that some of you may be willing to help educate me. Was Margaret Tyndale born in Northumberland and did she marry Rowland Taylor there? What happened to her and her children after Rowland was killed?
I have been told that John Taylor, a grandson by Thomas Taylor and Elizabeth Burwell, was born at Muncaster Castle near Carlisle, England and later emigrated to the Colony of Virginia. But I have no proof of this connection to Rowland Taylor.
Any information on the Tyndale and Taylor connection in England will be appreciated. I will, of course, be glad to share. Thanks for any help.
