Hi Pam: You and I corresponded about a year ago. Andrew and I have shared information several times this year and I have also written to his mother. My grandmother was Sarah Ladyman who emigrated to Michigan. He forwarded a message to me that he found last year from someone in Australia named Margaret. She included her e-mail address so yesterday I sent her a note. It was returned as undeliverable. She said she was descended from Joshua and Elizabeth's daughter, Anne. So I tried posting a message here. Do you know her? Thank you for responding to my message. Jessie Cook Finch

Hi Jessie,
Your Joshua Ladyman is not our family. However, I do have some information on the Australia branch of this family, but Andrew Hayes who has also posted messages on this board would have more as it is his family.
Best wishes.
Pamela Kirkham

Hi Margaret: My grandmother was Sarah Ladyman, daughter of Joshua and Elizabeth Ladyman of Steeple Claydon, England. She was one of 6 siblings who emigrated to Michigan, USA. There was one brother in Michigan and 2 others, according to my information, who emigrated to Australia. Sarah married Authur St. Clair and they had 2 children -- William and Caroline, my mother. She was called Carrie. Is this your Ladyman family? I would be happy to communicate with you and share information. Jessie Cook Finch

To Andrew: You responded to what I wrote about Joseph Ladyman in Australia. I used the e-mail address you indicated and my message was rejected. I just tried that address again and it was rejected also. (hayes2000@bigpond.com) I had attached 3 files regarding the Joshua and Elizabeth Ladyman family. Please let me know how to reach you and I will resend the files. I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about the Ladyman brothers who traveled to Australia. As I mentioned in my original message, Sarah Ladyman St. Clair was my grandmother. She was born in 1885 in Steeple Claydon and died in Michigan in 1918.
I am a descendant of the Joshua and Elizabeth Denny Ladyman family who lived in Steeple Claydon during the 1800s. There were 10 children: 2 died young, 2 emigrated to Australia (one stayed and one left), and 5 emigrated to southern Michigan. My grandmother, Sarah and her sister Amy, arrived in NY in 1899. Joseph settled in Inverell, New South Wales. Benjamin left Australia after his wife died and came to NY in 1898. Sarah was born in 1865 and died in 1918. I would be interested in corresponding with anyone who has more information about this family or who would like any information that I have. I live in Rochester, Minnesota.

Anything at all would be great.

I have a photocopy of the Joseph Mercer diary, but it's not a good copy and his writing is so hard to read it's almost impossible. Is there a transcript available of the diary?

Could you email me off list please to: kclarence at netspace dot net dot au. Thanks.

Kevin

There was a Joseph /Joshua Ladyman who went to Inverell NSW, but don't know any more than that. I know a lot about the Keswick ladymans. The Inverell ones may have come from Buckinghamshire as Imknow there were a lotthere.
regards.
Pamela.
