First, a descendant of Elijah's did the DNA test and results show this line doesn't match any other Tyner line tested so far. He does however match an Irish tester who's line was in Cork, Ireland. This line came from Ireland to Canada at the time of the Rev War. So, Elijah's parents are still unknown and most likely won't be found in the U.S.

Cordelia Aston was my grandfathers mother according to the US Federal Census in North Carolina 1900 census she was widowed and living with her brother George W Tyner and her three children Grover C, William L, and Susan Aston. She married a Samuel W Knight around 1906. Her first husband (Aston) was apparently from Virginia, but I am at a standstill.

I am in search of Fred Tyner and Family in Oklahoma. My father at age 60 was successful in opening his adoption records. It listed Betty Lou Baldwin as his biological mother. We got in contact with Betty to learn Fred Tyner was his biological father.Fred is 93 and has lived in Pawhuska for many years. We attempted to make contact with him and learned he is staying with family around the Sand Springs area just outside of Tulsa. Any information would be greatful.

Their are still lots of Tiner/Tyner's alive in NC, Mississippi, Okla and Texas and some in California. My Mothers people traveled from Mississippi to Oklahoma back in
the late 1880 to 1900's

Thanks for the info Tony...sorry took so long to write back. My grandmother (Almedia) told me that her father came from Lee County Florida around 1895 to Tampa. He use to spell his name TINER. He also told my grandmother, there 14 Tyner/Tiner brothers that came from England, in the 1700's.

Wilson (born November 01, 1870 in Texas.) His grandparents were Ivory Stephen Tiner of TN and Elizabeth A. Gordon of GA. His great-grandparents were John S. Tyner and Rachel Katherine Rider. William Edgar Tyner died May 28, 1887 in Tarrant County, Texas.

I too am a descedant of the John Harris/Sarah Tyner union. I think the union was as Bob stated too. John's will mentions his wife Mildred and "ye" children of Sarah Tyner. Sarah's father's Will sounds as if he wasn't pleased with her and left a her only a cow "if she will have it".

I too have Tyner Tombstone photos too. They are of Harris Tyner's wife Nancy Adair and some of their children, that moved to Indiana from South Carolina after the Revolution. This move must be because Harris was a Captain in the British Army and presumebly died during the war fighting against the colonist.

My name is Barbara Bretthauer. My mother was Rose Elizabeth Bryan Bretthauer (born Kissimmee, FL). Her mother was Elberta O'Berry who married John Nathan Bryan (Kissimmee, FL). John Nathan Bryan's father was Conrad Francis Bryan who married Pearlie Eugenia Tyner (buried Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee).

I have been researching the Bryans and O'Berrys for years, but just recently began the Tyner Quest...the messy Tyner Quest. Pearlie Eugenia Tyner (my Great Grandmother) was daughter of John J. Tyner (GA), who was son of Simeon Tyner and Hester Ann Southwell (buried Alchua County FL).

I would love to connect with any Tyners from this line. Children of John J. Tyner and Mary Josephine Suber were: Pearlie Eugenia, George D., John K., Gideon S., and Hetty.

Sounds like you may have found her Tyner's, mine are all
so far from NC and Ms and most moved to Tx and Okla. My Mom's family were the Tiner/TYner's

Yes that is my grandfather and his kids. His son David James Tyner lives in Littelton Co. Horace Clay Tyner was my father he died Jan 4 1991.

I am searching this out too. Tyner City, IN was named for Thomas T. Tyner and he is buried in the Tyner Cemetery. Richard and Elizabeth Osborn were his parents. I am searching for descendents of Francis Marion Tyner, my grandfather, who was possibly a son of Thomas. He is buried beside Thomas.

I am trying to find information on my Tyner line. Particularly exact birth and death dates (census data and obituaries when available), and any information about applications to the Dawes commission, or inclusion on the Dawes rolls.

My direct line is:

Laurene Wells > Jerry Holland > Paulyne Mills Holland > Hattie Ella Smith Tyner Mills Pascal > Francis Smith Tyner > William Henry Tyner > Jesse Tyner > Dempsey Tyner

The only two possible (due to age) to have enrolled with the Dawes Commission are Francis Smith Tyner or his father William Henry Tyner.

Would like to know the exact date of death and cemetary where William Henry Tyner is buried. Would like same info for Jesse Tyner.

Any information at all on Elizabeth Mitchell (Jesse's wife) and Nancy J. Smith (William's wife) would also be greatly appreciated!

I am willing to share my tree to help facilitate the linking of this information.
